Captain America: The First Avenger Images

The summer of 2011 is going to be a blockbuster summer to behold with a whole host of movies that are going to have us practically living at our nearest cinema.

And one of the movies that we can ben looking forward to is Captain America: The First Avenger, which sees Chris Evans take on the cental role of Steve Rogers.

The Marvel Comic movies have been flooding the big screen in recent years, Evans is no stranger to them after starring in The Fantastic Four.

But this time Joe Johnston is behind the camera and he has pulled together an impressive cast of Hugo Weaving, Samuel L.Jackson, Stanley Tucci, Hayley Atwell and Tommy Lee Jones.

After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America’s ideals.

Captain America: The First Avenger will be released 22nd July 2011. Take a look at the first hi-res images for the movie:

Second Burlesque Trailer

Burlesque sees Christina Aguilera make her big screen debut later this year as she teams up with Cher and Stanley Tucci.

Ali (Christina Aguilera) is a small-town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams to LA.

After stumbling upon The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue, Ali lands a job as a cocktail waitress from Tess (Cher), the club’s proprietor and headliner.

Burlesque’s outrageous costumes and bold choreography enrapture the young ingenue, who vows to perform there one day.

Soon enough, Ali builds a friendship with a featured dancer (Julianne Hough), finds an enemy in a troubled, jealous performer (Kristen Bell), and garners the affection of Jack (Cam Gigandet), a bartender and fellow musician.

With the help of a sharp-witted stage manager (Stanley Tucci) and gender-bending host (Alan Cumming), Ali makes her way from the bar to the stage.

Her spectacular voice restores The Burlesque Lounge to its former glory, though not before a charismatic entrepreneur (Eric Dane) arrives with an enticing proposal…

Yes Christina Aguilera has followed in the footsteps of Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and her co-star Cher as she tries to have both a successful music and movie career.

The singer is all set to make her debut in Burlesque, which does look a little like make It Happen, which is directed by Steve Antin and also stars Stanley Tucci, Cam Gigandet and Eric Dane.

First Easy A Images

Emma Stone returns to the big screen later this year with her latest movie Easy A.

Directed by Will Gluck Stone, who was last seen on the big screen in Zombieland, is joined on the cast list Amanda Bynes, Cam Gigandet and Stanley Tucci.

After a little white lie about losing her virginity gets out, a clean cut high school girl sees her life paralleling Hester Prynne’s in “The Scarlet Letter,” which she is currently studying in school – until she decides to use the rumor mill to advance her social and financial standing.

Burlesque Images

Cher teams up with Christina Aguilera for new movie Burlesque, which is released at the end of the year.

The Burlesque Lounge has its best days behind it. Tess, a retired dancer and owner of the venue, struggles to keep the aging theater alive, facing all kinds of financial and artistic challenges.

With the Lounge’s troupe members becoming increasingly distracted by personal problems and a threat coming from a wealthy businessman’s quest to buy the spot from Tess, the good fortune seems to have abandoned the club altogether.

Meanwhile, the life of Ali, a small-town girl from Iowa, is about to change dramatically. Hired by Tess as a waitress at the Lounge, Ali escapes a hollow past and quickly falls in love with the art of burlesque.

Backed by newfound friends amongst the theater’s crew, she manages to fulfill her dreams of being on stage herself. Things take a dramatic turn though when Ali’s big voice makes her become the main attraction of the revue.

Ruth’s Saturday Sauce

Paul McCartney is a lovely chap isn’t he? So whilst he might be over what that old toad did to him, we are definitely not. So when I heard he’d opened up about his divorce from the one-legged wonder, I have to have a butchers.

The New Year is quickly approaching and it’s time to look back over some of the best movies of the year. Today with kick off with teen gem Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist, if you haven’t seen this it’s really worth a watch!

Stanley Tucci may be a seasoned actor but he struggled with his latest role in The Lovely Bones. He takes on the role of child killer George Harvey but being a father himself he found the whole experience difficult. Er Stan did you not read the script or book?
