Beauty wishlist #2

Origins products are a real treat for the skin – mainly because you know you’ll be getting natural products.

The Make A Difference Rejuvenating treatment promises to quench thirsty skin, something that I definitely need. Especially during summer when the sun can dry it out.

Fresh plumped skin is what I’m hoping this Origins product will bring… Has anyone tried it?

Beauty wishlist #1

I’ve decided that I’m going to share with you all my beauty wishlist items; these are the pieces that I’m lusting after – usually after seeing on a beauty blog – but can’t really justify/afford to buy them.

First up, the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation.

I can’t count the amount of times I’ve read beauty blogs and heard them rave about the wonders of this foundation.

It has to be mine.

People have raved about it’s coverage abilities, something I definitely need for my scarred skin. It apparently creates a flawless, satin-like finish. Who doesn’t want that?

This little beauty is available from House of Fraser, £33

Mani Monday

The sun is shining and it’s a Monday – so of course it had to be a bright nail colour today.

And this bright neon pink shade is perfect for summer time.

This colour is definitely moving into my ‘Favourites’ collection.

It will look amazing on holiday with a tan – especially on your toes.

This is the first Nina Ultra Pro varnish I’ve used and the colour is beautiful, I used two coats to create this look. And the wide brush means it’s super easy to apply and cover the whole nail easily.

You can buy these varnishes from Sally stores and www.sallyexpress.com –  there are a huge number of different colours I can’t wait to get my fingers on.

Here’s another picture that I uploaded to Instagram using my new A Beautiful Mess app which lets you put on pretty borders, doodles, phrases and text onto your images. I can’t stop using it!

Pastel shades are still my favourite for the Spring season, when it rolls round to summer – hopefully – that’s when I favour the brighter shades.

This week’s simple nails were created with two varnishes, one from the Lasting Gel range from Collection. I used the nude shade last week. This time I chose the peachy colour.

Again these varnishes slide on and the colour lasts really well. I used this on my index finger alone.

Then, on the rest I used a beautiful Butter London sage green shade, with gold speckles.

This varnish is a real beauty. Definitely a nail varnish brand I’ll be going back to.

Mani Monday

A nude nail is perfect for a Monday-Friday work look, but it’s finding a nail varnish that will last that long too.

These Lasting Gel Colour varnishes from Collection are just the thing.

Nude gel nails
The colour glides on to nails and the high shine finish gives the impression of a gel nail.
I found these to last about four days before a chip, pretty amazing considering they’re on £3.19 a bottle.

Definitely a nail varnish brand to try!

Mani Monday

I was treated to a lovely Red Carpet Manicure at this past weekend’s High Street Fashion Week in London.

Mani Monday Red carpet manicure

The beautiful gel manicure is fairly similar to the Shellac style, but according to the nail technician the light is a lot more smaller and easier to carry around.

I opted for a bright yellow shade, as I’m still searching for the perfect yellow varnish (do you know of any?).

This particular one is fairly sheer, there was four coats applied to my nail. But with a beautiful shimmer it’s easy to forgive.

I expect this to be a nightmare to remove, but I’m definitely certain it’ll have been worth it. My nails feel super strong too.

You can buy the Red Carpet Manciure Gel Set for at home use too. It takes a few steps to get the nails perfected, but it’s worth the fuss for the end result.

Mani Monday

Mani Monday is made up this week of a bright magenta nail with a silver glitter ring finger.

Bright, bold and sparkly.

Mani monday pink and silver glitter

The pinky/purple varnish is a Nars nail colour from the Thakoon limited edition range (click on the image below to buy.)

The silver glitter is from Barry M. But it’s not all just silver, there are hints of blue green, gold and pink.

The pink is drawn out my the Nars varnish.

Mizz Glitzy beauty blog: Radiance creams

Hi Ladies ….

Well I know one thing this weather is doing nothing for my skin and I bet you are the same, I’ve been looking at different ranges to put the moisture back into our skin to give that radiant glow back and guess what I found the perfect creams…..

BB Stands for Beauty Balm and these can be used instead of moisturiser, also can be used for firming you skin as -well as giving a great base for your foundation. You can also use with a moisturiser, but be careful not to over load the skin as your foundation can slip, this will cause patches with your makeup, if you’re unclear what to use please tweet mizz_glitzy for some advice.

CC Stands for colour corrector to give the perfect base!

I discovered that L’Oreal has a wide range of products that covers most skin ranges at a reasonable price:

Anti-Redness- is amazing for red blotchy skin….or ladies that suffers with roseatia this will give you a perfect base that your foundation will give an amazing coverage

Anti Fatigue- This is for more mature skin to help fill in fine lines and wrinkles!

Anti Dullness- Ladies tired and dried out skin this is perfect for: Especially for them early mornings school runs….. For Mums still to look their best!

Garnier has a range out, also and again for different types of skin so you need to make sure that it’s suitable for you,

Oily skin: Ladies if you suffer with oily skin this is perfect and will really balance your oils out before applying your makeup, you will notice your foundation will last a lot longer!

Normal/dry skin: If you feel your skin is combination, then gives this a whirl to give yourself a great even base to work with!

Anti-Wrinkle: This is for ladies again with mature skin helps to prevent wrinkles…. Which we know ladies prevention is better than cure!

Maxfactor CC Foundation is amazing it has all the benefits as well as colour corrects, hydrates and protects it also has a spf 10 with a cooling extract.
