And talking about Matt Dillion not appearing on the big screen much this year the actors is back in this movie too.
Lead by Idris Elba, hasn’t The Wire done wonders for his career?, Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen, Chris Brown & T.I. all come together for Takers.
The movie follows a notorious group of criminals who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies.
They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists.
But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.

Posted by Ruth in : Music, Ruth's Ramblings , 10commentsChris Brown, what planet are you on mate? Is it just me, or does anyone else wonder why the heck he is still hoping to get back with his ex Rihanna?
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m sure they loved each other like salt and pepper, but after he gave her a backhander earlier this year, and left her looking rather like a giant purple and red balloon, we’re pretty sure she’s not interested.
Now we’re not wanting to speak for the Umbrella lady, but after Chris bumbled on to Hot 97 FM about how he felt about Rihanna, I was left feeling somewhat queasy, he said; “Feelings are feelings and they don’t go away overnight, especially if you sit down and be like, ‘Look, I’m [going to] really be in this relationship with you. Past whatever the case, past our busy schedules, past us being two of the biggest artists.’ I really care about her.”
Well, note to Chris, you WERE one of the biggest artists… and now Rihanna is hanging out with Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake, I think it’s probably a case of ‘Chris who?’ especially when he tried to get our sympathy by moaning; “That was one of the most embarrassing things for me, because of my image and who I was as a young role model to a lot of kids. ‘It was hard for me.”
Err, hard for you? What about poor old Rihanna who couldn’t go out without a face full of make up for a month and who’s probably terrified that the next man she falls for will do the same thing?
Seriously, is Chris Brown completely bonkers? Do you think Rihanna should actually give him another chance?

Michael Jackson Gets ANOTHER Tribute Show September 8, 2009
Posted by Ruth in : Music, Ruth's Ramblings , 61commentsSo, Michael Jackson has had a public memorial service at the Staples Center and a private funeral at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California… and now it looks like we’re milking his death even more – this time by putting on a concert in Vienna.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for remembering the King Of Pop, but really, can’t we remember his CD’s and music videos? Why do people think that we – the fans – want to watch a load of celebs singing his songs and trying to moonwalk?
What’s more, they’re only bringing in shamed R n B star Chris Brown for the event too… great, so we’re trying to forget Michael might have had a couple of run-in’s with the law, but who cares, lets bring in a bloke who’s got five years probation after assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Brilliant.
But standing up alongside Mr Brown on September 26 will be Mary J. Blige, Natalie Cole and Sister Sledge as well as 13 other acts… Sister Sledge?! I mean, come on, we can never replicate the tributes by Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Lionel Richie.
It seems to me that these ‘tributes’ are just going on for the sake of it now, we’re all mourning his loss, but we can’t bring him back, and isn’t it better to remember Michael’s music rather than pay to go and have the pain of our loss dragged up again?
Organizers are billing the event as the main global tribute to Jackson, who died June 25 in Los Angeles, but I think that that could have been the memorial… or maybe the funeral? Or maybe one of the hundreds of Facebook groups…. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Will Someone Please Stop Chris Brown Whining? September 7, 2009
Posted by Ruth in : Music, Ruth's Ramblings , 1 comment so farChris Brown should really let this whole Rihanna thing go now – I mean let’s face it, she’s not going to be taking him back – but he still insists on whining about how much he still loves her.
We know it’s hard when your ex starts dating someone else, but to hear Chris Brown blubbering on about how he will find it difficult when his ex-girlfriend Rihanna starts dating someone else kind of makes me want to scream.
I know when I saw my ex’s Facebook status changed to ‘In A Relationship’ I felt like id’ been dumped all over again, but since Chris has actually been ordered to stay away from the his ex for the duration of his five-year probation period after pleading guilty to assaulting her in February, I can’t see much hope of reconciliation.
In an interview with veteran newsman Larry King, his first since his arrest, Brown admitted he is “definitely” still deeply in love with Rihanna, and he confessed it will affect him when he starts seeing images in the press of his former girlfriend in the arms of another man.
He says, “Tell me, who wouldn’t be upset or who wouldn’t be like kind of hurt if somebody else gets the person you love?” Well, maybe you should have thought of that before you used her as a punch bag?
What is it with men these days? Why can’t they just love us and look after us anymore?

Could Chris Brown and Rihanna be loved up again? The pair have been spotted sneaking in and out of the same New York Hotel at the weekend.. despite the fact that Chris was banned from being anywhere near his ex… Oh Rihanna, don’t do it love!
Peter Andre’s side of the bed has hardly had enough time to go cold and Katie Price has already shacked up with another bloke… who is still in a relationship with someone else… Oh dear!
My new celebrity best mate is none other than Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt after we’ve had a good old chinwag about dance, life and of course, the uncertain future of the Pussycat Dolls after that Jai Ho cover….
What is it with musicians and spending their money on ridiculous things? Well now she’s got a bit of stardust in her hair, La Roux singer Elly Jackson is reportedly considering insuring her trademark quiff.
Leann Rimes has broken her silence over rumours she has split from husband Dean Sheremet – telling gig-goers in Utah she is nursing a “broken heart”. Unfortunately, people who cheat don’t get any sympathy from us…
It seems that times are a changing in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean as the production on the fourth film will be much smaller than the previous movies. Who really cares about the epicness of the movie just get Johnny back to the role we all love him for, that’s all anyone is really interested in!
It seems that Megan Fox really is the hottest thing in Hollywood at the moment. But will she have a long and successful career or is she just another flash in the pan?

Let’s face it, we all wish Chris Brown would just let the whole Rihanna thing go once and for all, but in a shock bid to build bridges, he has recorded a new video message… and slapped it up online, so obviously we’re showcasing it for you all to see!
What’s more, any rumours about Pharrell Williams and Rihanna can now be put to bed after naughty Pharrell was spotted leaving an uber-exclusive party to hang out with the r n b queen… looks like Chris Brown’s video might be falling on deaf ears…

Chris Brown Writes Rihanna A Love Song June 25, 2009
Posted by Ruth in : Music, Ruth's Ramblings , 6commentsOh please, when will Chris Brown get the message that when you beat up your girlfriend, she’s probably not going to want to spend the rest of her life with you? Even so, Mr Brown has penned a song all about his love for Rihanna, and oops, it’s been leaked on the internet.
Now usually a musician’s ‘inner circle’ has more leaks than a sieve when they need to get people talking about it, so as the singer reels from being charged with assaulting Rihanna, his ‘people’ are desperate to divert attention from the story and at daa, out comes a song about the leading lady.
Apparently Chris Brown penned the song after their violent altercation in March, and ironically named it Not My Fault 9which obviously makes me wonder if it was actually about the accident, or if Chris’ arms came to life and hit Rihanna without him being able to control them?
Either way, the lyrics include: “I pick up the paper and the headline reads/ It said ‘Singer broken heart and some satin sheets’/ And I’m like why? We had a hell of a time. When I first met ya I told ya you will be safe/ In the misty fog you win something/ Falls to the floor and breaks/ But we look down to see what you dropped/Oh it’s your heart/Shorty see he’s caught up it’s not my fault.”
But whilst Chris was pouring his heart out, Rihanna found herself the subject of semi-naked photos which were leaked online… oh I’m so glad I’m not in a Hollywood relationship!

Now, we all know that Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas has one of the hottest bodies around, and we all put down the ice cream whenever she comes on MTV… so lets make ourselves feel even fatter by looking at her latest saucy snaps shall we?
Chris Brown has spent months denying that he assaulted ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but as the couple came face to face in court yesterday, Chris Brown pleaded guilty to the charge, only to get away with no jail time… Do you agree with the sentence?
Peter Andre is officially Katie Price’s X now, after she had a huge black cross inked over his name on her wrist. Classy.
This whole Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan storyline is getting a bit boring now, and the round and round of their relationship is making my head go all dizzy… but the latest speculation is that that couple is on once again.
It seems that Michael Bay is not a happy bunny over the way his new movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has been promoted. But in all fairness you just need to say ‘Transformers’ or ‘Shia LaBeouf’ and the movie promotes itself take a chill pill!

Max Drummey Supports “Hurting Women” June 11, 2009
Posted by Ruth in : Music, Ruth's Ramblings , add a commentI was just reading an article in the Daily Mirror, and I was quite surprised to see that Max Drummey (that bloke that was married to Peaches Geldof for about five minutes a few months ago) has been chatting about current affairs.
Okay, so the topic was the Chris Brown / Rihanna assault case and not Global Politics, but the result was just as shocking when he decided to say how good it was that men were finally hurting women.
Just so that you don’t think I’ve taken his statement totally out of context, here is what the indie kids has said; “We’re guys [Myself and Chris Brown] who have been hurt by women and I’m glad people like Chris Brown are finally taking it back and hurting women.”
Now, whether hurting is meant in the emotional sense I don’t know, but a statement like that in the middle of a trial for assault is loaded with inference on Max’s part. But then again, he is desperate for any publicity, his fake marriage to Peaches Geldof proved that.
Can someone please tell my why men feel they can act like this in today’s society?

So, tonight it the Britain’s Got Talent final, but a dark cloud has been cast over it after a British journalist has launched an utterly scathing attack on Susan Boyle. Read exactly what the British newspaper had to say about Susan Boyle here, but be warned, it is very offensive…
It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for, Rihanna has announced plans to testify against her ex boyfriend Chris Brown as a witness in the assault case against him. Rihanna has been unwilling to get embroiled in the row and has kept a dignified silence. Until now.
Is it just me, or did anyone else think Katie Price was desperate for a reconciliation with her estranged hubby Peter Andre? I’m no relationship expert, but I wouldn’t think going out on the lash with your ex boyfriend would be the best way to try and get into your husbands good books, especially when he dumped you for (allegedly) cheating on him.
Being a fashion addict at the age of 11 is not something I can readily admit to, but Donatella Versace on the other hand, is more than happy to be labelled as a glorified clothes horse, after being dressed up by her brother while she was a child. Ahh, that explains it all…
