Thor: The Dark World New Image

There is already plenty of excitement surrounding Thor: The Dark World as the first trailer has dropped this week. With Alan Taylor at the helm the movie the film promises to be bigger and better than the first.

And a brand new image featuring Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Hopkins as Thor and Odin:

Hemsworth and Hopkins are not the only familiar faces on the cast list as Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Kat Dennings are all back.

But there are some great new faces on the cast list as Christopher Eccleston takes on the role of Malekith while Zachary Levi takes over the part of Fandral.

Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.

In the aftermath of Avengers Assemble, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.

Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor: The Dark World is released 30th October

New Rush Images

Rush promises to be one of the most exciting movies of 2013 as Ron Howard returns to the director’s chair to helm a Formula 1 film.

The movie follows the rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt in the seventies and the crash in 1976 that almost claimed Lauda’s life.

Daniel Brühl and Chris Hemsworth take on the roles of Lauda and Hunt in the movie as they both continue to make a name for themselves.

And we have some new pics from the film for you to check out:

Natalie Dormer, Olivia Wilde, Tom Wlaschiha and Christian McKay are all also on a very exciting cast list.

Ron Howard has made some terrific movies throughout his career but it has been a while since we have seen him in the chair – The Dilemma was his last movie – and it is great to see him back.

Rush Trailer & New Image

One of the movies that we are looking forward to here at FemaleFirst is Rush as it sees Ron Howard back in the director’s chair.

The movie is based on the real life story of Formula 1 champion Niki Lauda and the crash that nearly killed him.

Daniel Brühl takes on the role of Lauda while Chris Hemsworth will play his greatest rival James Hunt.

And we have the new trailer for you to check out:

Natalie Dormer, Olivia Wilde and Christian McKay are also on the cast list for what is set to be the most high octane movie of the year.

This is the first time that we have seen Howard helm a movie since comedy The Dilemma while Peter Morgan has penned the screenplay.

Set against the golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the fast-paced, action-packed and exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the sport has ever witnessed – James Hunt versus Niki Lauda and their illustrious Formula 1 racing teams, McLaren versus Ferrari.

Rush is released 13th September.

Red Dawn Clip

Red Dawn was first released back in 1984 but now first time filmmaker Dan Bradley has remade it for 2012.

The director has brought together a great cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Adrianne Palicki and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

And we have a new clip from the film for you to check out:

In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target.

Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation.

Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters.

Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

First Poster For Red Dawn

Chris Hemsworth has already enjoyed huge success on the big screen this year with Avengers Assemble and Snow White and the Huntsman doing incredibly well at the box office.

But for anyone who is have Hemsworth withdrawal symptoms then do not fear as we have the first poster from his new movie Red Dawn for you to cast your eye over.

Red Dawn is a remake of the 1984 movie of the same name and will see Hemsworth and co save their town from an invasion of North Korean soldiers.

And the Aussie hottie is joined on the cast list by Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, Josh peck, Isabel Lucas and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Snow White And The Huntsman Featurette

If the superhero movie genre doesn’t tickle your fancy this summer then perhaps the retelling of a classic fairy story will.

Gone are the singing dwarves and the animals that can do the washing up as Snow White and the Huntsman is a darker take on the story then we have ever seen before.

Charlize Theron stars as the evil Queen Ravenna in the movie and this latest video take you behind the scenes and into her throne room:

Kristen Stewart will take on the role of Snow White while Chris Hemsworth, who is having a busy summer, will play the huntsman..

Snow White is the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen – and the queen is not out to destroy her.

But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) who was dispatched to kill her.

Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

Snow White and the Huntsman is released 1st June

Avengers Assemble Featurette

We are throwing Avengers Assemble treats at you today as to go along with the clip we also have first featurette for you.

The movie looks set to kick off the summer blockbuster summer in fine style as a great cast of actors are brought together.

This featurette sees director Joss Whedon and the actors talk about the movie and bringing these characters together:

Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are back as Iron Man, Captain America and Thor while we get a proper look at Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and we meet Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk for the very first time.

Throw in Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson as Black Widow and Nick Fury and Tom Hiddleston as baddie Loki an you have one hell of an exciting movie.

Avengers Assemble is released 26th April.

Snow White and the Huntsman is the latest fairy tale to be adapted for the big screen in the boom in this genre in both cinema as well as on TV.

But this is Snow White like you have never seen her before as director Rupert Sanders has delivered a dark and somewhat grim take on a well known tale.

Yes Snow White is no wishy washy woman in this movie she is a warrior who is ready to take back what is her’s – I can’t wait to see Kristen Stewart take on this very different role.

Avengers Assemble UK Character Posters

Avengers Assemble is set to be one of the must see movies of 2012 as Joss Whedon returns to the director’s chair.

Not only that but it promises to be one of the most exciting casts of all time as all the heroes of the Marvel world have been brought together to battle evil.

Now I don’t know about you but the thought of seeing Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury all in the same movie is pretty exciting.

Not to mention the actors that are involved in the movie as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are back while we will really be seeing Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo for the first time.

New Image From The Cabin In The Woods

The Cabin In The Woods looks set to be one of the most intriguing movies of this summer as Josh Whedon produces and Drew Goddard directs.

It’s looks set to be a busy period for Chris Hemsworth as this will be the third movie to hit the big screen this summer – he is also set to star in Avengers Assemble and Snow White and the Huntsman.

But this is a very different role for the actor as he tackles the horror genre along with Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford.

Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen.
