Django Unchained has hit the big screen this weekend and sees Jamie Foxx team up with director Quentin Tarantino to lead an all star and very exciting cast.
Django Unchained is the first movie for Foxx since he appeared in comedy Horrible Bosses and it is the first time that he has tackled the western.
He takes on the role of Django in the movie who is on the hunt for his wife who has been taken by a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.
In this featurette Foxx talks about the movie and his character:
Foxx is joined on the cast list by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kerry Washington while Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson reunite with Tarantino.
Set in the South two years before the Civil War, Django Unchained follows Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Waltz).
Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.
Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side.
Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.
