Joe McElderry can pack his goofy Geordie smile away after Rage Against The Machine are dominating the battle for the Christmas number one!
This Facebook campaign, which has been dubbed ‘Rage Against The (X Factor) Machine’, is determined to see an original and deserving artist taking the number one spot.
The early chart positions show that McElderry’s cover of ‘The Climb’ (which has already been released once this year) has sold less than the US band‘s iconic 1992 single, ‘Killing In The Name Of‘.

One major problem for rock fans however, is the fact that the physical format of McElderry’s single is not released until tomorrow, and this is expected to snatch the lead back for the corporate crooner.
So, do you think RATM can keep the lead, or will Joe smash them to pieces when his single hit’s the shops?
