Lady GaGa WHAT Are You Wearing Now?! November 3, 2009
Posted by Ruth in : Music, Ruth's Ramblings , 1 comment so farLady GaGa has yet again unleashed her terrifying wardrobe choice on us, and at the same time has decided to celebrate Halloween a few days late….
Personally I think this rather odd ensemble she pranced around in at the Annual ACE Awards in New York – which looks rather like she’s got flour all over her after a failed baking session – just takes the *ahem* biscuit.
Okay, so maybe Lady GaGa was just making some cupcakes or a pizza before glancing at the clock and realising she had to be in NYC to pick up an award for accessories (they are giving awards for anything these days) but we’re not convinced.
I don’t think the whole lace helmet and bra-over-shit look is ever going to take off here in Wigan, but then again, I doubt any of GaGa’s fashion choices will…
What do you think? Halloween horror or Gaga-Tastic?

Kate Moss….You Wouldn’t Start the Night Like This? August 26, 2009
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , 1 comment so farKate Moss is set to release the latest installment of her Topshop collection tomorrow…but the advertising campaign shows her looking like she’s just rolled in from a night out!

Kate is pictured posing limply against a wall and lying on the floor while showing off the ripped and laddered tights that are part of the range.
She reminds me off those Alcohol:Know Your Limits adverts on the TV…you know the ones where the girl rubs sick in her hair before she goes out.
So if ‘intoxicated hussy’ is the look you’re going for next season then get yourself down to Topshop tomorrow.
Primark On Trend for A/W 08 August 6, 2008
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , 1 comment so farI love the way Primark are so good at turning around the catwalk trends and making them mega cheap season after season and their latest collection is no exception….

This tartan dress and checked scarf are both bang on the winter heritage trend and look like they have come straight out of the House of Holland collection…totally Aggy Deyn!

Primark is also great for a good comfy chunky winter knit and I love this tie waist cardi….perfect for snuggling up in the cold weather!
Credit Crunch- bad for your fashion sense? June 2, 2008
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , 2comments
There’s been a lot of coverage recently about the credit crunch affecting everything from food to petrol prices, but what about the effect on your wardrobe?
Trivial I hear you reply, but actually in these quite depressing times, a little clear up in your closet and reinventionof pieces you had forgotten; can actually save you money in the long run and make you feel better about yourself.

It’s ever so tempting to run into Primark on a daily basis and grab anything off the rails that looks remotely fashionable, but once your fix has worn off like a cheap sugar rush, you’re left with something that will not last beyond the next fashion season.
The triumph of Primark also happens to be its Achilles heel; particularly in relation to how their products are made and the potential backlash that they may face because of it. We’re all guilty of
hitting the shop for a cheap fashion fix, be it shoes; accessories or those ‘must have’ jeans. The initial effect of this fashion splurge is utter elation, because you’ve secured a whole new wardrobe for a rock
bottom price, and still have the power to dazzle for a fraction of the cost.
But what about the comedown? That inevitable crash you experience after every high, when you see half the population wearing what you thought was an exclusive find. Or when you find things aren’t quite the quality you expected, it unavoidably makes you feel like you’ve wasted money rather than invested it.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of fast fashion and I think the high street has done a great job making women feel like they’re wearing designer labels, without the accompanying mortgage loan to pay for it. But something has to give sooner or later, and if this credit crunch is going to teach us anything, it’s how to shop within our means and how to look damn stylish in doing so.
So first of all, as boring as it may sound, invest in key pieces; this is a classic way to save money and still look good. A smart pair of tailored trousers, a selection of skirts (a-line, mini and full), a trendy trench coat and a fitted blouse are all looks that will never go out of style, no matter how you wear them.
The key is to accessorise with a clever waist-clinching belt, a heavy pendant necklace, chunky bangles or even a supersized or mini clutch; the choice is yours. Another great way to beat the crunch is to reorganise your wardrobe; simple, yet effective.
As soon as you start rummaging through all your old clothes, you will realise just how much stuff you have. It’s so easy to forget the amount of items we accumulate in a year and most of it thankfully, is still wearable on a daily basis.
Even raiding the vintage haunts and charity shops on the weekend has now become a classy way to shop, thanks to the likes of Sienna Miller and Aygness Deyn, who have championed the quirky and off-beat look from the start.
The hard fact is, we can’t control the rising costs of living in Britain, but at least we can go some way to facing ‘the crunch’ face on, looking nothing less than fabulous.

Heidi Montag…another wannabe designer! April 14, 2008
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , add a commentHeidi ‘The Hills’ Montag is the latest celebrity to jump on the fashion bandwagon by attempting to produce her own clothes line….attempting being the appropriate word!
Her new line seems to be nothing more than a load of slutty hot pants and equally trampy crop tops….there is absolutely nothing remotely fashionable about any of it!

I doubt very much that she even went within a few feet of a sketch pad during the whole creation process and the fact that she is a fashion school drop out certainly shows! This is the latest in a long long line of celebrities- if you could call her that- suddenly deciding they have what it takes to be a fashion designer…well Newsflash…YOU DON’T!
Fashion design is a career that takes years of study and experimenting if you really want to be good at it. God knows what makes these hopeless wannabes think that because they splash out on the latest labels that they can start designing without any experience of what goes on behind the scenes.
Fair enough Gwen Stefani’s label isn’t too bad and Kate Moss for Topshop is wearable but I still think celebrities should just stick to what they’re good at….whatever that is for Heidi Montag!
Agyness Deyn Is Fashion Queen March 7, 2008
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , add a commentDid anyone see Agyness Deyn on Jonathan Ross the other week?? She’s even cooler than I realised…..She came across as very modest and genuine and seemed to be just generally having a damn good time and making the most of the oppurtunities shes been given…..plus she looked amazing in the dress Henry Holland knocked up for.

Reports around this week are tipping Agyness as the new Kate Moss (something we said months ago!) but we think that might be under-selling her potential a bit. Agyness has got real star quality and is very likeable….that’s something Kat always lacked. There’s no denying Miss Moss was a fab model but these days you gotta be able to work it off the catwalk too…Agyness definitely has the edge when it comes to being admired because of her personality and her unique style rather than who she knows and what VIP lists shes on.
Herve Leger Rainbow Bandage Dress….WTF??? February 6, 2008
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , 1 comment so farEveryone’s raving about Herve Leger this week after Max Azria debuted his revival of the label at New York Fashion Week but I’m struggling to see the appeal of this vintage Leger dress that Joss Stone wore to the show………….

Joss or Lindsay?

Joss’s dress is very similar to the one Lindsay Lohan wore to the Maxim Sexiest 100 awards just over a year ago and I hate to say it but I actually think Lindsay pulled it off better!
Saying that I don’t really see how this dress could look less than tacky on anyone. Bold rainbow colours are fab if you want to make a statement but along with that tigh fitting style and way to much flesh on show it just looks a bit chav-tastic in my opinion.
Disagree? Then lets hear it…..
Sex and the City: I Want Those Shoes!! January 26, 2008

Are these the cutest shoes you’ve ever seen???
We always knew Carrie Bradshaw had amazing fashion sense but these shoes exceed all expectations for the wardrobe of the new Sex and the City Movie! I’m yet to identify what genius is responsible for producing these gorgeous little ankle boot but I am getting Chanel vibe from the quilted material and button detail. If anyone knows anymore details then I beg you to plllleeeeeeeeeeease let me know
Chloe Bags: Paddington v Bay January 16, 2008
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , add a commentChloe are well known for their to-die-for handbags and their latest Bay number is set to be a huge hit, however I am a long time lover of the old favourite Paddington bag………….

Chloe Bay, £886

Chloe Paddington, £924
There’s just something about a Chloe Paddington that makes my heart melt in true irrational girly style. The softness of the leather and charm of the lock and key design gets me everytime. Also on a practical note…it’s big enough to hold my entire life! The Bay is also pretty cool but it just lacks that wow factor that first made me fall in love with the Paddington…..so it’s gonna take something a bit more special to steal my affections.
Pamela Anderson Chavs It Up for New Year January 4, 2008
Posted by Caz in : Fashion , add a commentWe know Pamela Anderson isn’t really known for her style but this example of label whoring is the worst I’ve seen for a while………

Not only has Pammy broken the infamous ‘cleavge OR legs’ rule but she’s made the outfit even more trashy by sporting a huge Chanel label across her front! Someone of her age should know better.
Yes we know your millions can buy you a Chanel dress but to be honest Pam you look more like a chav in a knock off they bought off a fella in the local pub. Money really can’t buy you taste!
