Georgia Davis, Britain’s Fattest Teenager

I’m aware that today’s blog is not celebrity based but when I saw this story, I just had to put my 2 pence in. Yesterday, it took a team of over 30 scaffolders, police and firemen to get Georgia Davis out of her home and to hospital.

The reason? Because she’s a suspected 63 stone. Now I find this just disturbing, at 19, how do you even get to that weight? I do feel sorry for Georgia, once you get past a certain weight, it’s hard to go back, but why let yourself get like that in the first place?

Now before anyone says ‘well it’s easy for thin people to say’, I’m not thin myself, but I’m certainly not anywhere near 63 stone. I don’t believe that being fat is a disease, the answer is simple, don’t eat so much.

The worst thing about this story is that back when Georgia was 15 she lost half her body weight after she enrolled in a fat camp in America, so why would she put it all back on and more when she knows how difficult it is to lose?

Allegedly, Georgia needed to go to hospital as her organs had started failing due to her weight, so the mammoth task of building a bridge to carry her from the first floor of her house began, as well as having to remove a first floor window and wall.

The whole fiasco took eight hours from start to finish, which highlights that had her condition been any more serious, she may have died during the process.

I wish Georgia the best in her battle with her weight, but after being told that she will not see 20 if she continues as she is and saying that she’s not ready to diet yet, unfortunately, I seriously doubt it is a battle she will win.
