The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: The Many Faces of Tony September 22, 2009
Posted by Helen in : Movies , 2commentsThe Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus finally makes it to the big screen laster this year and will be the final movie for Heath Ledger.
Ledger takes on the role of Tony who tries to protect Doctor Parnassus’ daughter from the devil, Mr Nick.
Long ago Doctor Parnassus made a bet with the devil in which he won immortality.
Many centuries later, on meeting his one true love, Dr Parnassus made another deal with the devil, trading his immortality for youth, on condition that when his first-born reached its 16th birthday he or she would become the property of Mr Nick
After his death Terry Gilliam fought to get the movie completed in memory of Ledger. To do so he enlisted the help of Jude law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell to take on Ledger’s role.
Take a look at the many faces of Tony throughout the film:

Alice In Wonderland Trailer September 4, 2009
Posted by Helen in : Movies , 1 comment so farA Tim Burton movie always tends to be a little bit of a weird experience and Alice In Wonderland looks like it’s going to be no different.
The maverick filmmaker has called on the talents of his long standing collaborator Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, is there an actor more perfect for this role than Depp?
Depp is joined by Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and newcomer Mia Wasikowska.
19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen’s reign of terror.
Released in march 2010 take a look at the first trailer for the movie:

The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus Trailer August 10, 2009
Posted by Helen in : Movies , add a commentWhen Heath Ledger suddenly died in January 2008 it looked like The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, the movie that he was working on at the time, would remain unfinished.
But filmmaker Terry Gilliam, who had worked with Ledger on Brothers Grimm, had other ideas and drafted in Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp to complete the film in memory of the actor.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is a fantastical morality tale, set in the present day. It tells the story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary ‘Imaginarium’, a travelling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom.
And after screening at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year the first trailer for the film is finally here:

Heath Ledger’s Final Movie July 22, 2009
Posted by Helen in : Movies , add a commentIt’s fair to say that The Dark Knight was a hell of a movie and it was Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker proved to be the best performance of his tragically short career.
While everyone believed that the Joker was a role that should never have been tampered with, it was a part that belonged to Jack Nicholson. But Ledger proved everyone wrong and scooped the best Supporting Actor Oscar earlier this year.
But the actor will grace the big screen on last time later this year with The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, directe by Terry Gilliam. The filmmaker brought in Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law to complete the film after Ledger died in memory of the actor.
The story of Dr Parnassus and his extraordinary ‘Imaginarium’, a travelling show where members of the audience get an irresistible opportunity to choose between light and joy or darkness and gloom. Blessed with the extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others, Dr Parnassus is cursed with a dark secret.

First Rum Diary Images June 4, 2009
Posted by Helen in : Movies , add a commentOk so Johnny Depp may be back on the big screen this summer, his first movie since Sweeney Todd, and there are already whispers of an Oscar nomination next year, and not before time I might add! But the actor is already back on set.
Yes filming on The Rum Diary is underway after being put on hold due to the writer’s strike.
Depp takes on the role of Paul Kemp, a freelance journalist who finds himself at a critical turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in the Caribbean.
Paul is challenged on many levels as he tries to carve out a more secure niche for himself amidst a group of lost souls all bent on self-destruction.

Johnny Depp Is The Mad Hatter March 31, 2009
Posted by Helen in : Movies , 1 comment so farIt would seem that Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland for the siple reason so Tim Burton could make a movie out of it, strange world, strange creatures is just up Burton’s street.
And naturally he has called upon the acting talents of a Mr Johnny Depp who will take on the role of the Mad Hatter. Unfortunately the movie isn’t released until 2010 so this image of Johnny in full Mad Hatter gear will have to put you on til then.

Any fan of Britney Spears will be happy to hear that she is auctioning herself off for charity. She put herself on eBay and hopes to raise a whopping £7, 500 – I’m not sure whether that is with or without allouance for damaged goods though!

He’s just so awesome in that film and he makes me dissolve like a malteaser! – get me on the list for the premiere…if this is going to be my last chance to kidnap Captain Jack Sparrow im going to clutch at it with both hands!
Yet again Amy Winehouse has showed how utterly mental she is! She had the cheek to return designer frocks covered in vomit! I know I for one likes to wear nice dresses, keep the labels on then return them… but I think it will be the last time that Harvey Nichols lends the Wine-o anything and they certainly won’t be offering any refunds for ‘broken’ items!
If you want all the inside Gossip Girl(s) – then listen up: Drew Barrymore has only gone and bagged herself Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick – see what I did there!? – Why is it that she get’s EVERY cool, funny (and remotely hot) guy on the plant. Life just isn’t fair…well at least I still have my cracking sense of humour to make me feel a bit better!
Finall,y could that little tearaway Kelly Osbourne be ready to settle down with her toyboy lover 18-year-old model Luke Worrall? She was spotted wearing a rock in her engagement finger on the latest episode of The Osbournes speaking the rumours… I’ll be waiting for the postman to bring my invite Kelly!
