The lovely Keira Knightley is back on the big screen this week with the release of her new movie Seeking A Friend For The End of the World.

The movie sees Knightley tackle black comedy really for the first time as she teams up with funnyman Steve Carell.

Set in a too-near future, the movie explores what people will do when humanity’s last days are at hand.

Anna Karenina Trailer

Joe Wright has made quite a splash with his first four movie projects Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, The Soloist and Hanna and now he is back.

Anna Karenina is one of the post-summer movies that I am most looking forward to as Wright brings the famous story by Leo Tolstoy to the big screen.

The movie reunites him with leading lady Keira Knightley for the first time since Atonement as she takes on the title role and leads an all star cast.

And we have the first trailer for the movie for you to take a look at:

The story unfolds in its original late-19th-century Russia high-society setting and powerfully explores the capacity for love that surges through the human heart, from the passion between adulterers to the bond between a mother and her children.

As Anna questions her happiness, change comes to her family, friends, and community.

Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald and Emily Watson are all on the cast list of a movie that is not to be missed.

Anna Karenina is released 7th September.

Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World Images

Steve Carell teams up with Oscar nominee Keira Knightley for the first time this summer as they star in Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World.

The movie is the feature film directorial debut for Lorene Scafaria, who also penned the script, in a movie that looks set to be a welcome break from all the big budget blockbusters and superhero movie that will be gracing the big screen over the next few weeks.

And we have some new images from the movie for you to take a look at:

A 70-mile-wide asteroid is en route to Earth, and the last best attempt to counter it has failed. Also failing is the marriage of soft-spoken insurance salesman Dodge (Golden Globe Award winner Steve Carell); the breaking news that the world will end in an estimated 21 days cues his wife to leave him on the spot.

Dodge is a man who has always played by the rules of life, while his neighbor Penny (Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley) is an extroverted woman who hasn’t. From these opposite perspectives, both initially choose to navigate the impending end of the world with blinders on.

Dodge declines joining his friends in increasingly reckless behavior, while Penny fixates on her relationship issues with a self-absorbed musician.

The two misfits meet first when Penny has a rough night and then again when she belatedly delivers Dodge a lost letter. That letter could alter Dodge’s future; it’s from his high-school sweetheart Olivia, the love of his life.

When a riot breaks out around their apartment building, Dodge realizes that he must seek Olivia out before it’s too late while Penny makes the decision to spend her last days with family in England.

Seizing the moment, Dodge promises to help Penny reach her family if she will provide transport for the two of them in her car immediately. She agrees, and they escape.

On the road together, the unlikely travelling companions’ respective personal journeys accelerate, and their outlooks – if not the world’s – brighten.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is released 13th July.

A Dangerous Method Clips

A Dangerous Method is one of the movies of early 2012 that I am really looking forward to after it was met well on the festival circuit.

Not only is it the latest project from David Cronenberg, his movies are always well worth a watch, but he has brought together a super impressive cast.

The movie reunites him with Viggo Mortensen, they have worked together on A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, Michael Fassbender and Keira Knightley.

Carl Jung (Fassbender), a disciple of Sigmund Freud (Mortensen), is using Freudian techniques to treat Russian-Jewish psychiatric patient Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley) at Burghölzli Mental Hospital.

But the deeper Jung’s relationship with Spielrein grows, the further the burgeoning psychiatrist and his highly respected mentor drift apart.

As Jung struggles to help his patient overcome some pressing paternal issues, disturbed patient Otto Gross (Vincent Cassel) sets out to test the boundaries of the doctor’s professional resolve.

Meanwhile, Jung and Freud’s continued sessions with Spielrein lead to a series of profound breakthroughs in the methods that doctors use to treat their patients.

A Dangerous Method is released 10th February.

Keira Knightley mixes monochrome with the 20′s…

Keira Knightley is an English Rose.

She’s appeared in some of the biggest blockbusters of our generation and lent her fresh-faced beauty to more than one cosmetic & fragrance campaign over the years.

Hitting yet another red carpet premiere for new film A Dangerous Method, Knightley wore an effortlessly chic and stylish monochrome Roksanda Ilinic dress, proving she’s an industry pro both on and off-screen.

Knightley wore the stylish above-the-ankle dress, with wrap around, cutaway top half with peep toe black shoes and her hair in a simple sleek up-do.

It seems the Keira could not have ticked anymore style boxes if she tried.

The only question is: Was it too much?

I often find the answer to this question in fashion is: If you have to think about the answer, then no. If the look instantly screams out to you that there is too much happening, then there more than likely is – but not this time.

Keira’s look maybe monochrome, androgynous and 1920s all wrapped up into one, but it looks effortless and blends together perfectly. She has also balanced the look well well her lack of jewellery and statement smokey eyes, going for the ‘less is more’ when accessorising.

For me, this is a thumbs up from the 26-year-old, whose sense of style is evolving beautifully.

What’s your verdict?
