Katie Price Slams Victoria Beckham’s Parenting Skills

Yes, you read right. Katie Price has decided to lash out at Victoria Beckham about the way she parents her children.

Victoria recently gave an interview in Harper’s Bazaar US saying that she wakes up half an hour before her children, gets them ready for school and between taking them and picking them up she manages to fit in a full day of work.

And this is pretty much the same for most mums all over the world, right?

Well, Katie Price feels differently. She wrote about how she thinks that Posh isn’t being honest when it comes to her parenting skills.

Katie’s beef was that Posh didn’t mention whether or not she had help with her kids, in the form of nannies and chauffer’s.

Yes, Posh is a busy woman but is it really so unrealistic that she might actually look after her own children?

At least her children are all from the same father and have a stable family unit to work with, rather unlike Katie’s brood.

I’m not saying Katie is a bad mother, but her string of failed relationships can’t be having a positive effect on her children.

Katie is pregnant with another child to her new husband yet admits she already uses a nanny to help her with what she has already got.

Maybe it’s about time to stop having more children if you already need help with the ones that you’ve got?

Quarter of mums buy and wrap their own gifts

It’s a time for buying gifts, giving them and receiving them. But for a quarter of mums out there, they will be buying and wrapping their own presents from their children and partners.

The survey, conducted by Argos and YouGov, revealed that 31 per cent of mums start preparing for Christmas before October and more than half buy between 11 and 50 presents in total at Christmas, while 67 per cent receive 10 or less in return.

Nearly one in five mums spends more than 24 hours in total shopping for Christmas presents, so it’s no wonder then that 48 per cent say they find Christmas shopping a tiring experience.

In recognition of all of their hard work Argos is opening the Mums’ Grotto for one day in central London on Saturday 26 November.

Visitors to the Grotto will be able to meet special ‘celebrity Santa’, TV presenter and mums’ favourite Jeff Brazier, who will be asking the mums what’s on their Christmas lists. As well as meeting ‘Santa’ the mums will be able to indulge in pampering treats, including massages and mini-makeovers, enjoy aglass of bubbly and go away with a special gift from Argos.

Jeff Brazier says: “It’s nice to be able to celebrate mums at a time of year that can be very focused on children. I’m looking forward to being able to treat some of the mums who spend months preparing to make Christmas a magical time for their families.”

Carl Nield, Brand Development Manager at Argos says: “Mums can be the unsung heroes of Christmas so we wanted to do something to recognise their efforts. We hope to make them smile on Saturday with some presents from our Christmas gift guide and pampering treats from our range of health and beauty products.”

The Argos Mums’ Grotto will be open from 9.30am to 4.00pm on Saturday 26 November at 7 Berners Mews, London W1T 3AN. For priority entry, mums can Tweet @Argos_Online #mumsgrotto and let us know what would be the ultimate treat for them this Christmas.

What to do with the kids this half term

Looking for something to keep the kids busy this half term? Well then, look no further.

We’ve got a few things that you can do to keep them busy, which only means that there is less hassle for you, bonus.

First up, you can not only get to treat them to a fun day out, you’ll also be helping to raise money for UNICEF – what more of an excuse do you need?

To celebrate the launch of this year’s Soft Toy Campaign, where every soft toy, children’s book and kids meal purchased between October 24th and December 23rd at IKEA stores generates a donation of £1 to UNICEF and Save the Children to support children’s education programmes throughout the world, IKEA invites you and your little ones to take part in an afternoon of teddy bear themed fun and adventure.

The IKEA teddy bear take over day will include an array of exciting activities, from storytelling sessions using this year’s range of IKEA kids’ books told by BJÖRN the Bear’s special friends, to delicious teddy bear’s picnics. The fun does not stop there, as an exciting bear hunt will also take place across the store where you have the chance to take home a FREE BJÖRN the Bear of your very own.

Go to the IKEA website to find out where the nearest one is happening to you.

Next up, the much loved Aardman character, Shaun the Sheep, will be visiting the National Trust’s mass on-line farming MyFarm project at Wimpole Home Farm in Cambridgeshire on Wednesday 26th October.

MyFarm aims to educate and engage the public in all aspects of farming.  Every month the online community help make real decisions which are then carried out on the farm, with real consequences.

Families will be able to meet Shaun and pose for photos, whilst taking home MyFarm and Shaun related puzzles and worksheets.

The National Trust has partnered with Aardman Animations to encourage children and families to learn about farming and food.  Shaun has been brought on board to help expand the audience to include more families and young children.

Families visiting the farm can sign up to MyFarm (cost £30) and get into the farm for free!  (Usual cost for 2 adults and 2 children £38.70 – so saving of £8.70).  Farm gates open at 10.30am.

The National Trust has also created a dedicated Shaun the Sheep page on the MyFarm website which will be regularly updated with new content, including activities and discussions aimed at a family audience. The website will also include Shaun the Sheep online games and downloadable posters. For more information visit: http://www.my-farm.org.uk/news-and-blog/shaun-the-sheep-day-at-myfarm

Finally, if you have little monkeys roaming about your home then this is the activity for you.
