Wrath of the Titans Character Posters

Wrath of the Titans looks set to be one of the early blockbusters of 2012 as Sam Worthington reprises the role of Perseus.

The movie comes two years after Clash of the Titans and sees Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes also return.

Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy and Toby Kebbell are just some of the new faces on the cast list.

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year-old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon.

The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’s godly son, Ares, switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans’ strength grows stronger as Zeus’s remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth.

Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda, Poseidon’s demigod son, Agenor, and fallen god Hephaestus, Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Wrath of the Titans is released 30th March

New Coriolanus Poster

Coriolanus looks set to be one of the must see movies of early 2012 as Ralph Fiennes makes hit directorial debut.

He has assembled a super impressive cast as he stars alongside Gerard BUtler, Vanessa Redgrave, Brian Cox, Jessica Chastain and James Nesbitt.

Based on the Shakespeare play Fiennes takes the title role of Coriolanus, a revered Roman General at odds with the city of Rome and his fellow citizens.

Pushed by his controlling mother Volumnia (Vanessa Redgrave) to enter the Senate, he is loath to ingratiate himself with the masses whose votes he needs in order to secure a Senate seat.

When the public refuse to support him, Coriolanus’s anger prompts a riot which culminates in his expulsion from Rome.

The banished hero then allies himself with his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius (Gerard Butler) to take his revenge on the city.

Coriolanus is released 20th January. Take a look at the new poster for the film:

Best Movie Posters: Schindler’s List

Schindler’s List (1991)

Steven Spielberg has a knack of producing great poster art for his movie – after praising E.T. & Jaws it’s now the turn of Schindler’s List.

Schindler’s List is one of the greatest war movies to ever grace the big screen with superb central performances from Liam Neeson & Ralph Fiennes.

In Poland during World War II, Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazis.

This is a hugely powerful image of larger hand reaching down and grasping a smaller and more vulnerable being.

This is such a potent image for helping those who needed it – that no other picture could have much such a powerful impact.

And that image is beautifully contrasted with ledgers of prisoners- demonstrating that, at the time, people were nothing more than a number.

The movie brings together a great British cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Matthew Goode, Emily Watson and TV star Christian Cooke.

Cemetery Junction tells the funny, touching and universal story of being trapped in a small town and dreaming of escape. In 1970s England, three blue-collar friends spend their days joking, drinking, fighting and chasing girls.

Freddie (Cooke) wants to leave their working-class world but cool, charismatic Bruce (Tom Hughes) and lovable loser Snork (Jack Doolan) are happy with life the way it is.

When Freddie gets a new job as a door-to-door salesman and bumps into his old school sweetheart Julie (Felicity Jones), the gang are forced to make choices that will change their lives for ever.

Cemetery Junction is released 14th April. Take a look at a couple of clips from the movie:

Clash of the Titans Premiere

The stars of Clash of the Titans were out in force on the red carpet last night as London hosted the world premiere of Louis Leterrier’s latest movie.

The film sees Sam Wothington back on the big screen since the success of Avatar, although lets be honest Avatar has been such a big hit he has never really left.

In Clash of the Titans the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world.

Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld.

With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds.

Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

Another Clash of the Titans Clips

Clash of the Titans finally hits the big screen next week, and as a fan of the original I must admit I’m excited to see what they have done with it.

Sam Worthington, who is still basking in his Avatar success, is back in the central role of Perseus. He is joined by an all star cast of Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson and Gemma Arterton.
