Carnage Clips

One of the movie that I have been looking forward to this year is Carnage – the new movie from Roman Polanski.

When you see a cast list that includes Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz and John C Reilly – exciting to see three Oscar winners together in the same movie.

The movie follows a showdown between two kids about eleven, in a local playground.

Swollen lips, broken teeth… Now the parents of the ‘victim’ have invited the parents of the ‘bully’ to their apartment to sort it out.

Cordial banter gradually develops a razor-sharp edge as all four parents reveal their laughable contradictions and grotesque prejudices.

None of them will escape the ensuing carnage.

Carnage is released 3rd February

Best Movie Posters: Chinatown

Chinatown (1974)

Jack Nicholson teamed up with Roman Polanksi in 1974 for Chinatown – a movie that also starred Faye Dunaway and John Huston.

A private detective investigating an adultery case stumbles on to a scheme of murder that has something to do with water.

There are a handful of great posters for this movie but it’s the classic American version that, I think, is by far the best.

There is a real art deco feel to the design and there is a real throwback feel to the old style detective novels.

But there is just something really arty and classic about this poster – which sets it apart from other artwork of this time.

A Roman Polanski movie is always something that everyone gets a little excited about – and Carnage is not different as he brings together three Oscar winners.

Yes Kate Winslet teams up with Christoph Waltz and Jodie Foster as well as John C.Reilly for the director’s latest movie.

The film was met with rave reviews when it was screened at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month.

Tells the story of two sets of parents who decide to have a cordial meeting after their sons are involved in a schoolyard brawl.

First Carnage Trailer

Roman Polanski is one of very few directors who has actors falling over themselves to work with him.

He is set to return with a new comedy/drama Carnage that has no less than three Oscar winners on the cast list.

Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C.Reilly all join forces for the new project which tells the story of two sets of parents who decide to have a cordial meeting after their sons are involved in a schoolyard brawl.

We haven’t seen Polanski in the director’s chair since The Ghost, which starred Ewan McGregor and Pearce Brosnan, last year.

The first trailer for Carnage has been released.

The Ghost Clip

Pierce Brosnan has been a busy boy of late, he is back on the big screen this week with Remember Me, with The Ghost just around the corner. The Roman Polanski directed movie sees brosnan team up with Ewan Mcgregor and Kim Catrall in the thriller.

Based on Robert Harris’ acclaimed novel, The Ghost is the story of a ghostwriter hired to take over writing the memoirs of one former British Prime Minister (Pierce Brosnan), after the ex-Prime Minister’s first co-writer dies in an accident. Soon after the Ghost accepts the assignment, a high-ranking British official accuses Lang of illegally seizing suspected terrorists and handing them over for torture by CIA, a war crime.

The controversy brings reporters and protesters swarming to the Martha’s Vineyard mansion where Lang is staying with his wife, Ruth (Olivia Williams) and his media-handler turned mistress, Amelia (Kim Cattrall).

As The Ghost works, he begins uncover to clues revealing the previous writer may have pieced together a dark secret linking Lang to the CIA, and that somehow this information is hidden in the manuscript he left behind.

From acclaimed director Roman Polanski and resonating with topical themes, this atmospheric and intriguing political thriller charts one man’s determination to discover the truth and to tell it, if necessary, from beyond the grave.

The Ghost is released 16th April. Take a look at a clip from the movie:

The Ghost Writer Trailer

Roman Polanski may be having a bit of personal trouble at the moment but the movie industry rumbles on as The Ghost Writer is going to be released.

The movie brings together a great cast of Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattrall, Olivia Williams, Tom Wilkinson, Timothy Hutton.

When a successful British ghostwriter, The Ghost, agrees to complete the memoirs of former British Prime Minister Adam Lang, his agent assures him it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.

But the project seems doomed from the start—not least because his predecessor on the project, Lang’s long-term aide, died in an unfortunate accident.
