Jurassic Park remains one of the Steve Spielberg’s greatest movies as he really brought these creatures to life so vividly.

To say that the Academy loves an biopic is a bit of an understatement but this is not a full rundown of Lincoln’s life instead it focuses on his fight to abolish slavery.

It was back in 1975 when Jaws was released for the very first time and it was a movie that was to kick-start the age of the blockbuster.

And next Monday we see the Steven Spielberg classic come to Blu-Ray and to celebrate we have a featurette about the music used in the movie:

When a gigantic great white shark begins to menace the small island community of Amity, a police chief, a marine scientist and grizzled fisherman set out to stop it.

Jaws remains as tension filled and terrifying today as it did almost forty years ago while Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss are still remembered fondly for their roles.

Jaws is released on Blu-Ray 3rd September.

Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson Talk Tintin

Now I have to admit that I wasn’t a fan of Tintin when I was young but this is one of the winter movies that I am super looking forward to.

When you seen that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have collaborated then it is not a movie that you can just let pass by.

Yes Spielberg is back in the director’s chair, for the first time since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, while Jackson is on producing duties.

Weta Digital are behind the movie’s special effects and the entire film has been shot using motion capture – another reason that I am excited to see it.

Tintin is an intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure.

Jamie Bell has lent his voice as the title character Tintin while Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Andy Serkis and Toby Jones are all on the cast list.

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is released 26th October.

Best Movie Posters: Schindler’s List

Schindler’s List (1991)

Steven Spielberg has a knack of producing great poster art for his movie – after praising E.T. & Jaws it’s now the turn of Schindler’s List.

Schindler’s List is one of the greatest war movies to ever grace the big screen with superb central performances from Liam Neeson & Ralph Fiennes.

In Poland during World War II, Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazis.

This is a hugely powerful image of larger hand reaching down and grasping a smaller and more vulnerable being.

This is such a potent image for helping those who needed it – that no other picture could have much such a powerful impact.

And that image is beautifully contrasted with ledgers of prisoners- demonstrating that, at the time, people were nothing more than a number.

Motion capture has been a feature on the big screen more and more in recent years but Steven Spielberg’s latest movie looks set to raise the bar even higher.

The director is set to bring Tintin to the big screen in The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn as he teams up with Peter Jackson and Weta Digital.

Yes the popular cartoon character is going big screen this winter as Jamie Bell is set to lend his voice to the character with Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Andy Serkis all also on the cast list.

Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Captain Haddock’s ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt.

Best Movie Posters: E.T.

E.T. (1982)

Our look at the best movie posters of all time continues today as we celebrate one of the best alien movies of all time… of course I am talking about E.T.

Now I have been watching this movie for almost twenty years and despite the fact that I know how it’s going to end I still find myself wailing like a baby!

And, for me personally, this remains Steven Spielberg’s greatest movie triumph – a movie that truly has stood the test of time.

The poster has become just as much a classic at the movie itself as it depicts one of the most famous moments from the film as Elliot makes the decision to save his friend.
