The Big Wedding TV Spot

The Big Wedding is a comedy that will be hitting the big screen at the end of the month and it has an truly eye-watering cast.

There have already been some terrific ensembles so far this year and The Big Wedding provides is with another as Robert De Niro, Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried and Ben Barnes.

Justin Zackham is back in the director’s chair for only the second time after helming his last feature film Going Greek back in 2001.

Zackham has penned the screenplay and it is a remake of 2006 French film Mon frère se marie.

The Big Wedding is an uproarious romantic comedy about a charmingly modern family trying to survive a weekend wedding celebration that has the potential to become a full blown family fiasco.

To the amusement of their adult children and friends, long divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (De Niro and Keaton) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding after his ultra conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend.

With all of the wedding guests looking on, the Griffins are hilariously forced to confront their past, present and future – and hopefully avoid killing each other in the process.

The Big Wedding is released 29th May.

The Lovely Bones is another movie that is already causing a bit of an Oscar stir.

The adaptation of Alice Sebold’s popular novel sees Peter Jackson returns to the director’s chair for the first time since King Kong in 2005.

However he has been very busy with producing the likes of District 9 and Tintin.

The movie focuses on a young girl who has been murdered and watches over her family – and her killer – from heaven.

She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.

It’s great to see Jackson move away from the big budget blockbuster and The Lovely Bones looks set to be one of the early must see movies of 2010.

The Lovely Bones Trailer

The Lovely Bones looks set to be one of the biggest movies of next year as Peter Jackson adapts Alice Sebold’s very popular novel.

And Jackson knows a thing or to about producing some great movies and this is only the second film he has directed since Return of the King.

The movie follows teenager Susie Salmon who watches over her family from heaven after she is killed a neighbour.

Lovely Bones Images

Alice Seabold’s book caused a stir when it was released in 2002, it was the book that everyone was reading. But now it’s coming to the big screen.

Peter Jackson, who is a busy man of late with District 9, Tintin and The Hobbit, but he has turned his back on the big budget blockbuster for now to concentrate on this family drama as they struggle to cope with the murder of their daughter.

But it’s a project that has been plagued with problems as Ryan Gosling quit just before shooting got underway and has been replaced by Mark Wahlberg.

Joining Marky Mark are Oscar winners Rachel Weisz and Susan Sarandon and Atonement star Saoirse Ronan.
