We’re always in a rush. We have places to go, people to see, things to cross off our list. It comes as no surprise then, that the chores we have to carry out regularly are being made faster and easier for us to do.
Johnson Cleaners, the UK’s leading dry cleaning expert, has invested a six figure sum in order to launch the UK’s first ever drive-thru dry cleaners.
Johnson Cleaners currently has 461 stores nationwide and has now invested £130k to develop the new concept store in Burton, Staffs – the quickest and easiest way to get your coats, dress or suits cleaned.
The drive-thru dry cleaners – a concept which has proved popular in US but has never been tried in the UK market before – was launched in October. It aims to create the highest levels of convenience for customers, allowing them to drop off and collect dry cleaning and laundry without leaving their car.
It will be open 24-hours a day, every day, via a drop box facility which will allow a secure drop-off and pick-up system for customers who are unable to visit during regular business hours.
As part of the £130k investment, which has created two new jobs in the area, the store will also boast specialist laundry and duvet cleaning equipment, as well as additional services including alterations, repairs and a shoe repair service.
Talking about the launch, Paul Ogle, managing director of Johnson Cleaners, said: “The concept has been developed as a result of wider market research over in the US, where drive-thru dry cleaners are commonplace and operate as part of a very successful business model.
“We know that a lot of people are time poor, especially those with families and who work shifts, and we want to make dry cleaning, laundry, and ironing as convenient as possible for them. As an investment it absolutely makes sense for us and we’re confident that customers will reap the benefits.”
