Giorgio Armani designs Lady Gaga’s tour wardrobe

Lady Gaga is one lucky lady, she gets to wear some of the most influential designers on a day-to-day basis and now she has one of them designing each of her looks for her Born This Way Ball tour.

Giorgio Armani has created these stunning costumes.

It’s not the first time that the singer has worked with the luxury fashion brand, having used them for costumes for her 2010 Monster Ball tour as well as dressing her several times for the red carpet.

Mr Giorgio says himself: “I admire the way she uses fashion as a scenic element and as a means to build a character.

“She is an artist of many talents and great intelligence. Creating stage costumes for her is a stimulating and creative exercise.”

What do you think of them?

Win A Date With Justin Bieber

Seriously. I was settled in bed last night watching some programme about big fat gypsy weddings (thank God for subtitles), when my Blackberry pinged and I got an email from, Justin Bieber.

Obviously it was from Justin Bieber’s ‘people’ – I’d never give him my email address – but the heading declared; “Your Ticket to Never Say Never Could Get You a Date with Justin Bieber!”

I see a few problems with this;

1) I don’t have a ticket to see JB, and I have no intention of purchasing one.

2) I am far too old for Justin and do not condone adults going on dates with young boys.

3) I could be a man. Why, if I was a man, would I want to purchase a ticket to a Justin Bieber concert, and then be subjected to a romantic date with the floppy haired teen.

4) Isn’t he already going out with that Disney girl?

I need a better spam filter.

Shayne Ward’s Going On Tour. Anybody Going?

Shayne Ward is well and truly back with a new single, Obsession, from the album of the same name, a top ten hit in Gotta Be Somebody and now the announcement of his first UK tour in two years.

A show stopping performance on X Factor and the release his third album late in 2010 reminded everyone of his very special vocal prowess. Ward, a singer’s singer, if ever there was one, says he’s thrilled to be back out on the road.

He adds that, “as a singer and performer nothing beats the excitement of working with a live audience”. Live has always been Shayne’s natural habitat and now taking Obsession out on the road, he’s putting on the ultimate show, with his first set of intimate dates starting in Wolverhampton on 15th March.

Ward, who tours Ireland and Germany straight after the UK shows will be performing an array of his hits, right from his X Factor smash That’s My Goal to his RnB infused No U Hang Up to new fan favorites on current album Obsession. Having found his rightful place in pop society, The X Factor may have launched him but like another vocal great he has already moved beyond that point. Few know that Tony Bennett, one of Shayne’s all time heroes, came second in a talent show for singing waiters. However, he landed a recording deal with Sony, and has recorded 100 albums for the label.

The platform might be different but each generation throws up real talent and that always rises to the top whatever the route. This time around it’s Shayne Ward.

We’ve had a great year since our last visit to Female First HQ! We’ve been up to all sorts, recording demos in Paris, building our fanbase,  a whole load of touring/promoting the UK led up to us signing a record deal with My Major Company.  They’re an innovative new label, who fund us by allowing our fans to buy shares in our album, making them an active part of the music, and giving them the chance to see a return when our album comes out and is massively successful , we managed to reach the full £100,000 investment in 5 days! ;)

2011 should be an exciting year for us. At the moment we are spending some time in Manchester rehearsing for the tour and taking advantage of Dan’s wonderful hospitality as he has bravely offered to put us up at his home.  We’re touring throughout January and recording our new video. We are also recording our album in February with an amazing producer we’re really excited to work with. Our first single ‘Line up the Stars’ comes out at the end of March, with our album following in the summer.

If you want to come see us on tour in January all the ticket links are here! http://facebook.com/event.php?eid=102959863108299

See you soon,

Amy Winehouse Gets £5m For Brazilian (Show)

Amy Winehouse. Train wreck with a good voice right? So why on EARTH someone in Brazil would pay her £5 million for five shows is completely beyond me.

The thing is, Brazil might really want the wineo to sing in their country, but to be fair, they could have probably booked her for £500 quid + expenses and a free bar…

A source told The Sun, “Amy will be rolling in it. Brazil is keen to establish itself as a major player in music and is attracting a host of top stars. A lot of money is being thrown around to secure their services.”

We’re very pleased to tell you that the Twin Atlantic have now posted the first song off their debut album which will be released in Spring this year on their YouTube account.

The track is called ‘Edit Me’ and is taken from their album which has just finished being recorded at the Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica with super producer Gil Norton.

You can listen to the track below or hear it for real during their headline UK tour which kicks off next week or check them out supporting pop rock giants Angels and Airwaves on the European leg of their tour later on in the month.

Could This Be The Best Tour Of 2011?

Fresh off the back of playing their biggest shows to date, culminating at the historic Wembley Arena alongside Bullet For My Valentine, Sheffield metallers Bring Me The Horizon have announced an 8 date UK headline tour 22nd – 30th April.

Bring Me The Horizon have proven themselves to be one of the most interesting, popular and genre defining bands of their generation, pushing their unique brand of heavy music to new levels and this year smashed into the world’s charts with their third album There Is a Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It, There Is A Heaven, Let’s Keep It A Secret. Joining BMTH on the road will be a selection of the finest modern metal bands around – critically acclaimed Byron Bay Australians Parkway Drive, Brighton rising stars Architects, and US metalcore giants The Devil Wears Prada.

“Every tour we are currently doing is gearing up for this tour. It’s going to be our biggest and most ambitious tour to date” notes BMTH vocalist Oli Sykes. “I can say for myself, and I think for our fans, this is the best line up of bands on one bill we have ever put together. I mean BMTH, Parkway Drive, Architects and TDWP all on one tour? In the UK? How could it be better?” Sam Carter of Architects is equally excited about the tour: “This tour is insane! Has anyone ever seen a line up this good? Seriously?! This tour is going to be absolutely HUGE!”

TDWP frontman Mike had this to say: “Our band has a bad habit of neglecting territory outside of the US. When we do head overseas, were lucky to have excellent opportunities, such as the upcoming run with Bring Me The Horizon. We’re very stoked to be a part of the BMTH UK tour in the spring.” And Winston, Parkway Drive frontman added: “BMTH in the UK!? I don’t think it gets much crazier does it? It looks like it’s shaping up to be THE tour of 2011, we can’t wait!”

Russell Brand In Manchester Tonight…. Who’s Coming?

I know I’m the music writer, but I thought I’d share my plans for this evening with you as I sit here and eat my jacket potato with tuna, because, well quite simply, I think I’m going to explode with excitement.

Katy Perry’s fiancée (see, there’s the music connection) is rolling into Manchester tonight for a spot of stand up at the opera House as part of his Booky Wook 2 Tour, and guess who’s going…. Me!

I’ve loved Russell ever since he and Noel fielding acted up on that Big Fat Quiz of The Year a few Christmases back, and I cant wait to see what he’s like when he does little bits of stand up, reads extracts from his book and even has an interview with Matt Morgan!

[picappgallerysingle id="9920878"]

Not only that but O.M.actual.G, fans can even ask Russell questions… I’ve already got about 10 in my head… Pick Me! Pick me!

Russell will also be calling at Bristol Hippodrome tomorrow night and Alexandra in Birmingham.
