Amanda Bynes Loses Her Hair, and Her Mind

Once again, Amanda Bynes has hit headlines but this time it isn’t for a DUI or stripping naked in a stop, oh no, this time she is claiming that she has shaved her head.

She’s not done a full Britney, although it would hardly have been surprising the way she’s going at the moment.

She stepped out once again in New York looking a little worse for wear, in leggings and a puffer jacket with messy long-blonde hair.

The biggest problem, though, was that her extensions were clearly visible, not a great look for anyone.

Due to all the criticism, Amanda took to Twitter to defend herself and told her followers that she has had to shave her head after a stylist fried all her hair.

She wrote, “please post my pics anytime! I had to shave my head because of hair damage from someone @ John Barrett so I’m not loving my paparazzi pics for a few years! I have extensions but you can see them!”

But if we’re being honest, it’s not really her hair loss that’s the most worrying part of Amanda Bynes at the moment.

You just have to take one look at her Twitter feed along with the constant flow of news stories to see that she’s completely lost the plot.

I feel kind of sorry for her, obviously, but she plays up to it. If she stopped picking fights with every publication that posted a bad picture of her or wrote a derogatory story then eventually they’d leave her alone.

Her reactions are too priceless to stop teasing her, and she walks right into it, practically invites people to continue making a fool of her.

She’s constantly saying how she doesn’t need help, but has she seen herself recently? Obviously not.

New phone app protects people’s moods

Computer scientists have developed the world’s first mobile phone app which automatically colour codes messages so people know before reading them if they’re likely to make you feel good or bad.

The development, for Android phones, could mean the end of people being surprised by an angry or hostile message, whether it’s from Twitter, Facebook or text.

It would also allow smart phone users to prepare for bad news and allocate time to receive it.

Master’s student Lorraine Chambers and her supervisor, senior lecturer Mohamed Gaber, both at the University of Portsmouth’s School of Computing, will present their breakthrough at a conference in Spain in September.

Dr Gaber said: “We are increasingly sending and receiving information via messages on mobile phones. The rate of growth in this area has never been witnessed – everything from Twitter streams and Facebook messages to direct text messages are coming straight at us all the time on our handheld devices.

“This information has an immense power, whether we are reading a worrying social media news story or a warning email from our manager, messages can upset mood and increase stress level, just as good news and encouraging emails can cheer you up.

“The ultimate objective of this application is to make the user aware of the negative contents they receive so they are able to manage their stress in the best possible way. For example, if most of what is received from social media websites by a user on a particular day was negative, it is important that the user attempts to take an action in order to not get stressed, especially if this may affect the individual’s performance at work and/or their behaviour at home.”

The app works by automatically colour coding incoming messages as green for positive, red for negative and blue for neutral so a user can see before opening any message whether it is likely to be worrying or encouraging.

The Portsmouth researchers were inspired to research and develop the app after a visit by their colleague Mykola Pechenizkiy at the Eindhoven University of Technology, in the Netherlands, who had developed a similar capability for emails on desktop computers, together with his Masters student Erik Tromp. Mykola and Eric have worked with the Portsmouth researchers, Lorraine and Mohamed using state-of-the-art technology for sentiment analysis to classify ‘on the fly’ any textual input received on the user’s handheld device.

The researchers tested the technology on a range of Android mobile phones and find it works faultlessly no matter what each phone’s computational power and memory were. The researchers are working on ways to make it freely accessible via Android Marketplace.

If there’s sufficient demand, it will be made available to users of iPhones and iPads.

The results of the project are reported in a research paper that has been accepted for presentation at 16th International Conference on Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information and Engineering Systems, to be held in San Sebastian, Spain.

Face Crooks

There’s nothing like a slight exaggeration when you’re telling a story, but creating a profile that’s ‘fake’ isn’t right is it?

New research has indicated that eight out of ten Brits have admitted that their social networking profiles are ‘fake’.

A study of 2,000 people found the average Facebook user carefully composes their profile – falsely painting a picture of an exciting social life, sophisticated tastes and glamorous photos. But 80 per cent confessed they have doctored photographs, linked to articles to appear intelligent, or tagged themselves at locations they’ve never visited.

Fake relationship statuses, misleading profile pictures and fabricated status updates were other common cheats in the list of lies lurking behind the average online profile. The research, which was commissioned by domain specialists Siteopia.com, found a large percentage feel ‘relentless pressure’ to give off the impression they lead more exciting lives than the reality.

Yesterday Siteopia.com spokesman John Bartholomew said: “Social media has become integral to the way we view and define ourselves, but the results show people are happy to fabricate their profiles to create an image that isn’t real.

“That’s leading to a culture of unnecessary boasting and a misguided sense of self-importance which in turn pressures others into feeling inadequate.

“A person’s social media profile is an ideal version of themselves that has been deliberately constructed. But it’s important our need to be held in high regard doesn’t come through blatant lies.”

Have you ever done any of this? If you can’t be real with your friends though, who can you be real with?

Desperate Scousewives begins tonight….

It’s Monday November 28, it’s also the day that Desperate Scousewives is aired on E4 at 10pm.

The show came around off the back of The Only Way is Essex, Made in Chelsea and Geordie Shore. They’ve took the cameras to another stereotypical city in hope to show viewers an ‘insight’ into their lives.

I am a regular viewer, and yes, an avid fan of TOWIE, but have failed to pick up really on the others. I just watch bits ‘n’ bobs, when my sister has it on. Even though I may watch these programmes, I’m not naive, I understand that ‘some’ – that really means all – of the scenes have been created purely for entertainment, but you can’t help but laugh when Joey Essex tries to learn about Bonfire Night – classic.

But this programme, I must admit, I dread. Mainly for the reason that I’m from Liverpool myself and expect the ‘reality’ series to bring out the worst of the city.

Yes, the girls love the fashion, make-up and fake tan and the guys love, well the girls, but there is so much more than that to my wonderful city and I hope that after all the years of trying to dispel the taunts, they don’t come flooding back with this show.

I can see myself watching through my fingers this evening.

I’ll be tweeting my thoughts @tarynleeza and I’ll have a review of the first show tomorrow. Let’s hope it’s ‘boss’!!

Lily Allen Vs. Kanye West

It seems that Lily Allen and Kayne West have a habit of p*ssing off loads of people in the music business, but now – amazingly – they’re angry at each other.

Okay, so we kind of understand why Lily is a bit miffed, Kanye did Tweet; “an abortion can cost a ballin’ n***a up to 50gs maybe 100. Gold diggin’ bitches be getting pregnant on purpose.” After all.

Yes that’s right folks, Kanye is moaning about the cost of an abortion on Twitter – and whilst a shed load of people responded, it was Lily who caught our eye; “Never has a tweet put me such a bad mood. This is wrong on so many levels”.

We all know what it’s like when Lily gets angry, so Kanye just better hope he’s not in the same room as her for a good while… and perhaps whilst he’s hiding out, he could visit his local Sexual Health clinic, perhaps he’s unaware of those amazing things called condoms?

Look At These Pics Of Katie Price & Her Dancers…

Katie Price is getting herself all ready for Let’s Dance For Comic Relief which kicks off this Saturday… but Twittering a load of pictures of her hanging about.

We are pretty sure she’s never going to be the next Darcey Bussell, but still good on the Pricey for having a go in the name of charity. That makes he a winner to us!

Now, less Twittering and more dancing KP!

Karly Ashworth : Healthy Living

Since the whole anorexia storm has now settled, I thought this would be a good time for me to talk about ways in which I stay in shape and share with you some of my healthy living tips!

Weight Loss

Well its January, and ‘to loose a few pounds’ is normally on the top of everyone’s list! After taking a year out of modelling, I think its time for me to get back into shape as I have some exciting projects planned for 2011!

Its taken me a year but I’ve managed to put on over a stone…. Now don’t get me wrong, I am okay with my new-found curves but I think its time to get my butt back to the gym and get myself photoshoot friendly! I don’t believe in extreme diets, liquid diets, atkins diets or this maple syrup diet – I would just simply FAINT with no food in my system!

When I want to drop the odd pound or two I simply stop eating junk food and introduce more fruit and veg into my diet. My downfall is carbs, I could live on bread, pasta and CHEESE! When I am getting in shape I just try to eat less of these things. Its so important to eat a well balanced diet so to see results for a long period of time, do the right thing and make some healthy changes!

Fitness

Just.One.More....

I always find it really difficult to get back into a gym routine, if I go for around two weeks in a row I begin to enjoy it! Its getting to this point that’s the hardest. I’ve tried almost every class possible to explore all exercise options and find which one is most enjoyable for me!

If you find yourself getting bored or about to give up, try something different! There are so many different classes nowadays that if you feel the treadmill is just SO boring you wont have an excuse to quit again! One of my favourites is boxing training, I lost weight and toned up equally as fast!

Yoga is amazing if you are looking to tone up and if you are looking for something fun I would strongly recommend ZUMBA, but even simple changes can make a difference, getting off a stop earlier in the morning, or taking the stairs instead of the lift will have you a toned butt in no time!

Heathy Secrets

Yummy....

One thing I absolutely swear by is green tea.  When I am gyming and eating healthier, drinking this makes me feel so revitalised. It has so many health benefits, and It makes my skin look amazing after only a few weeks. They say it helps when trying to loose weight so I am all for that! I also love those dissolvable vitamin drinks, they taste great and its good to take extra vitamins especially at this time of year when colds and flu are rife!

Obviously this is just a few of the things I like to do when getting in shape, everyone is different and its important to find what works for you! So good luck gyming it!

Stay beautiful

Karly Ashworth Discusses Kenneth Tong & His ‘Managed Anorexia’ Fascination

Ladies, I have been outraged over the past week to see someone I used to know to has turned into something of a hate figure. Whilst I can’t go into the details of our past, I thought my blog would be a great platform to tell you all that this whole size zero debacle is completely absurd.

As you all know, Kenneth and I were once a couple (and he even continued to Tweet under my name for a good year) but since he dropped the Karly Ashworth tag, Kenneth has embarked on a tirade of insults against women, and it makes me hang my head in shame that I was once associated with him.

Size Zero? I Don't Think So....

This latest fascination of his is quite humorous because it’s clearly a publicity stunt on his part, the truth is, people are outraged by WHAT he is saying and could not actually care less who he is – of course he will think differently – but let’s face it… a homeless guy could come off the street, tweet the exact same things and have the same public battering, celebrity interest and be a Trending Topic alongside the likes of Victoria Beckham.

It’s a sad cry for attention which I urge you ladies of all shapes and sizes to ignore… I’m no size zero, and to be quite honest, I’d rather be known for doing nothing, than to be known as a HATE figure. To me, a person who measures there popularity by how many twitter followers they have must be a very empty person.

Size Zero? I Don't Think So....

Speaking of the content of this Twitter page, anorexia is not something that can be ‘managed’ as he claims. Anorexia is an illness, if this was a ‘manageable’ disease, do you not think that we could have in fact eradicated it completely?!

The only way this disease can be managed is when sufferers are managing their eating habits on the way to recovery, so for someone to endorse such a devastating illness is SICKENING! His words could potentially damage the health of young girls not only suffering from anorexia, but for others who may eventually develop the disease.

To me, the mere fact that Twitter are allowing him to use their service as a platform for his ignorance is shocking, the simple thing to do, would be for them to delete his account and get rid of the vile remarks. Surely they have to see this as a very serious situation?! Or then again, seen as he’s STILL talking, maybe not!

If he is going to continue bleating on about weight and body size, then perhaps Kenneth should try to practice what he’s preaching rather than being a keyboard warrior behind the safety of the computer whilst rubbing a double chin?! I mean all those Twitpics of Kenneth eating day in, day out has surely has to take its toll?! So why not try and slim down to a size 0 yourself Kenneth? I fear that he would be soon telling everyone that curves are in and to start eating again!

As for me, I am proud to promote curves and would STRONGLY advise all ladies to take no notice of the whole anorexia chat on Twitter. After suffering from bulimia myself after Big Brother, I know how difficult it is to live with an eating disorder and to overcome it, but I did (and I ditched Kenneth Tong and his archaic opinions) and now I feel better than ever.

Embrace your shape, live healthily, don’t live up to a mans expectations, be who you are and change for no one but yourself! Feeling good is all about how you feel, If you feel good in your own skin, that will show!

HELL NO SIZE ZERO!

Managed Anorexia – Is That Really A Message We Want To Be Sending?

Kenneth Tong; former Big Brother housemate, self-titled Playboy and fame-hungry Twitter addict has now branched out from bragging about his latest sexual conquest to preaching how women should be a size zero.

But is his so-called idea of ‘managed anorexia’ a message we want to be sending out to teenagers and impressionable young women?

The thing is, up until a few months ago, Kenneth Tong was using his joint Twitter account with ex-girlfriend Karly Ashworth to hang onto the speck of fame he had experienced in the wake of Big Brother, and he would regularly post pictures of himself wining and dining various women. However over the past few weeks, Kenneth has done a complete 360 and decided that women shouldn’t eat.

That’s right readers, this man believes that all women should be a size zero, and that anything larger is ‘disgusting’ and a ‘failure’. Only this morning he lectured; “Breakfast? You don’t deserve to be awake, let alone food. You are horrible. We both know it. You are disgusting. You are fat.”

The thing is, how can a man – who is far from being a sex symbol – preach about what women should look like?

Kenneth’s Twitter background isn’t food shy…

He has even tried to piggyback on the fame of other celebrities by Tweeting to ridicule them over their weight or meal decisions, take last nights bitchy comment to One Direction’s Harry Styles; @Harry_Styles No Nandos my Son! What kind of example are you setting for the youth of today encouraging fast food?!”

I think Mr Tong needs to take into account the irony of this Tweet; the sad fact is… what kind of example is HE setting to the youth of today by – as a Z List Celebrity -  endorsing the idea of eating disorders, because let’s face it, that’s what anorexia is.

I am left wondering whether this is all an OTT publicity campaign by a 25-year-old bloke struggling to cling onto any remnants of the ‘fame’ he got from his few hours in the Big Brother house. I mean, clearly Tweets like; “Tell me what you ate today and I won’t listen as you’ve eaten too much. To be thinner, skip dinner. Anorexia is not evil, it is an oft mismanaged blessing.” Are going to attract publicity for this fame monster, and he’s gotten what he wanted after the likes of Rihanna, Simon Cowell, Gordon Ramsey and Rochelle Wiseman have hit back at his words.

Rihanna said; “This is exactly why girls are doing everything to destroy their bodies!” whilst Cowell tweeted: “Just been informed about Mr Kenneth Tong. Twitter has a new village idiot. In fact he doesn’t even deserve the village. He’s an idiot. Mr Kenneth Tong you keep telling people to lose weight. The only weight people should lose is you. You’re not worth my time.”

Rihanna. Not A Size Zero, But Utter Perfection.

When The Saturdays star Rochelle told Tong: “Your tweets are upsetting a lot of people, including myself! It’s very vile!” he tried to squeeze every last dreg of his interaction with the celebrity by goading her with the response; “If you were fat, do you think would you’ve been part of the Saturdays?”

Rochelle Wiseman is an inspiration to so many young women, and for a girl to see Kenneth Tong telling their idol that she would be nothing had she not being thin is a very dangerous line to walk…. Is size zero (despite the fact that Rochelle clearly isn’t a size zero) the kind of image we want impressionable teenagers to aspire to? Surely not.

So, is it not about time Twitter did something about Kenneth Tong? Whilst it is easy for many women to ignore his warped ideas of how a woman should live their lives, there are going to be some who succumb to his desire to control them and really believe that; “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.” To those women (and men) out there…. I implore you to try some warm chocolate fudge cake.

Katie Price Confirms Marriage Is On The Rocks

Katie Price has been surprisingly quiet over the last dew months (considering we thought the media circus around her was the only thing keeping her alive, like she was some kind of publicity vampire or something) but once again, the PR machine has raised her ugly head.

We say ugly, but actually, her new blonde look is actually quite flattering, but anyway,  that’s not the point, KP has now confirmed that her relationship with Alex Reid is in big trouble with a Tweet relating to a story in the News of The World.

Katie said; ‘To answer my fans questions news of the world did a accurate story sunday about our marriage in crises ..always look on bright side xx’ fair enough her grammar might not be tip-top, but we can always work on that…

So, the story in question? Well, a friend of the couple told the paper; “It is no exaggeration to say that the marriage is in crisis. They have been going through an extremely difficult period trying to work things out. It’s been a very tough time for both of them.”

Oh we do hope they sort things out, after all, it is their first wedding anniversary on the February 2nd, so it would be a little bit sad if they broke up before then.
