Everything Must Go UK Trailer

We have waited a while for Everything Must Go but the latest project from funnyman Will Ferrell is finally going to hit UK cinemas.

Directed by Dan Rush and based on a short story by Raymond Carver, Everything Must Go tells the story of Nick Porter (Ferrell) who sells ‘salesmanship’ for a living, but the days of being on top of his game are long gone.

After delivering an inspiring presentation to his sales staff, Nick is summarily fired for falling off the wagon one last time.

He returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their suburban home and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard.

Faced with his life imploding, Nick puts it all on the line, or more accurately, on the lawn.

Everything Must Go is released 14th October.

Everything Must Go Trailer

Based on Raymond Carver’s short story Why Don’t You Dance?, this debut feature from writer-director Dan Rush marks a change of tone for lead actor Will Ferrell.

Although Ferrell has taken dramatic roles before, nothing has matched the pathos of his portrayal of a middle-aged suburban man whose life is crumbling around him.

An alcoholic who has slipped off the wagon after six months of sobriety, Nick (Ferrell) is let go from his sales job for a drink-related misdemeanour.

Returning home, he finds his wife has left him, changing the locks and throwing his possessions out onto the lawn before she went.

Nick’s response is to crack open a beer and bed down amongst the everyday detritus of his life, before discovering that the only way he can be there legally is to hold a yard sale, which buys him a five-day stay of execution.

Some help and solace comes from unexpected sources, and there are moments of humour and compassion in Nick’s plight, not least in his encounters with a lonely but savvy kid (CJ Wallace) and a sympathetic new neighbour (Rebecca Hall).

Megamind Clips

We haven’t seen Brad Pitt on the big screen since the smash hit Inglorious Basterds last year but he has lent his voice to new animation movie Megamind, which also boasts the vocals of Will Ferrell.

2010 has been a great year for animation movies and this looks set to follow that great trend as Jonah Hill and Tina Fey complete and impressive voice cast.

Megamind is the most brilliant supervillain the world has ever known. And the least successful.

Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way. Each attempt, a colossal failure thanks to the caped superhero known as ‘Metro Man,’ an invincible hero until the day Megamind actually kills him in the throes of one of his botched evil plans.

Suddenly, Megamind has no purpose. A supervillain without a superhero. He realises that achieving his life’s ambition is the worst thing that ever happened to him.

Megamind decides that the only way out of his rut is to create a new hero opponent called ‘Titan,’ who promises to be bigger, better and stronger than Metro Man ever was.

Pretty quickly Titan starts to think it’s much more fun to be a villain than a good guy. Except Titan doesn’t just want to rule the world, he wants to destroy it.

Megamind is released next month but we have a couple of clips for you to take a look at:

On The Red Carpet With The Other Guys

The Other Guys rolled into London last night for the premiere of the new cop movie which stars Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson and Eva Mendes.

NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops in New York City. They don’t get tattoos – other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg).

You’ve seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They’re not heroes – they’re “the Other Guys.” But every cop has his or her day and soon Gamble and Hoitz stumble into a seemingly innocuous case no other detective wants to touch that could turn into New York City’s biggest crime.

It’s the opportunity of their lives, but do these guys have the right stuff?
