Kate Moss heading for X Factor?

The rumours have been spreading like wildfire, is it true? Is Kate Moss heading for the X Factor.

Our favourite style icon is reportedly, according to Grazia UK, going to be joining the talent show as a stylist.

We all know that Simon wants this year’s show to be the biggest and best yet because it’s the 10th Anniversary, so is he pulling in one of the world’s biggest and well known models to help draw in the audience?

According to report, she is set to “style contestants at one of the live shows for a one-off Britpop tribute.”

“Simon is absolutely desperate to breathe life back into X Factor,” a source told Grazia. “He knows he has to change everything from the judges to the sets to the contestants themselves, but he also wants each show to contain something never seen or done before, something he calls: ‘Blow your pants off moments.’”

Fashion is an integral part of the show – we all know this, it’s commented on as much as their voices and of course we love to see what the female judges wear each week.

What do you think of Kate Moss styling one of the episodes? Will it make you tune in?

X Factor 2011: Kitty goes home

Another weekend of X Factor – more drama to be hold.

After Frankie Cocozza shockingly left/was told to go – I’m not entirely certain which is the truth because he says he made the decision to leave, whilst statements released have said he was booted for braking a golden rule (apparently taking drugs) – so, he left and Twitter went nuts for the idea that The Risk could be brought back.

Yes, I wanted this too, at least one more week of believing that they were singing a love song directly to me. A girl can dream.

Anyway, the producers made the wise choice of deciding to give the public the option to bring back the four acts who were booted in the first week. As the public didn’t have a say in this and no money was spent on votes.

So Saturday night, we discovered that Amelia Lily was coming back into the competition and she sung for survival, giving the performance of the night. Without any doubt. It cast into people’s minds the thought of why was she actually given the boot in the first week?!

Amelia Lily was shocked she's made it through to next weeks live show

Kitty, 26 was sent home last night after being in the bottom two with Misha B. Since the beginning of the competition, Kitty has come under scrutiny from the public, after failing to ‘connect’ with them. There’s no doubt that she has a strong vocal, but would people buy her album? Well, apparently not.

But, I doubt that this will even phase the blonde after she received a hug from her idol on last night’s Xtra Factor.

Lady Gaga was performing her new single, with a headless corpse on her body? – if anyone can explain that to me, it would be greatly appreciated – and we all know how much Kitty loves Gaga, she was seen crying on Saturday night because Kelly Rowland had chosen the song Born This Way for her contestant, Misha B. Kitty had, had her hopes on singing the meaningful song.

I already can’t wait for this week’s show to see how well Amelia Lily does and hopefully a front runner will finally come forward. I still haven’t decided who I want to win. Have you?

X Factor 2011: Just what is going on?

It’s clear to say that from the looks of Twitter and Facebook last night there was some outrage at the two acts that were booted from the reality show.

We said goodbye to both The Risk and Johnny Robinson in the double elimination – but the really shocking thing was, Frankie Cocozza stayed.

After his God awful performance of ‘I Got A Feeling’ and the fact two acts were going, it was a certainty, in my mind, that he would be making an swift exit out of the back door, with the hope that we would never have to hear from him again. But no. Surprisingly people vote for him, I’m not certain what they are exactly listening to, but it can’t be the same thing that I am.

Frankie Cocozza shockingly stayed in the competition

I am still truly heartbroken that The Risk had to go and can’t believe that they received the fewest votes. It just goes to show that you really do need to vote to keep your favourite in. Not only are they great singers they also give a performance when they’re on stage. Plus, it helps that they’re all good looking. Especially Andrew Merry, the Scottish lad, I do love that accent.

The Risk (L-R): Charlie Healy, Andrew Merry, Ashford Campbell and Derry Mensah received the fewest votes

And of course, Johnny Robinson. OK, I will admit that I can’t see myself buying his albums or watching him perform live in concert, but I expected a couple more weeks out of this lovely man. And at least he can actually sing, not like someone else I’ve already ranted on about.

Not only does Johnny have some talent, he was also grateful to be there which was really humbling to watch. You could see his excitement each week as he stood on stage. It was even more gratifying to watch when Gary enjoyed his performance, which leads to Johnny squealing with excitement.

Kitty Brucknell, Dermot O'Leary and Johnny Robinson

We can only hope that the public gets a clue next week and we will finally see the back of Frankie Cocozza. If we don’t, expect another rant on Monday morning.

X Factor Results – the verdict

It’s Monday morning, and at this time of year it can only mean one thing is up for discussion in the office today. The X Factor results.

Sunday nights are spent getting ready for the following week at work and the final bit of relaxation of the weekend by ‘vegging’ out in front of the TV to find out who we won’t be watching the following Saturday.

So this week was a shocker, the bottom two acts are both really amazing singers, great performers and could easily sell records. It’s shocking when you consider that Frankie Cocozza is still in the competition and he has the weakest voice out of them all, plus he doesn’t have the sexy, rock god vibe that he believes he does.

Both Misha B and Sophie Habibis had to sing for survival and await their fate from the decision of the judges. The most shocking thing was that Sophie got a clean sweep and all of the judges voted her off, even her mentor Kelly who said that because Misha B wanted it more she had to go with her.

Well, just because Sophie hadn’t cried at every stage of the competition to see the next part doesn’t mean that she didn’t want it.

As much as I liked to watch Misha B perform, like the judges have said, I think that she could easily pass for someone who has been working in the industry for years and each week she gives the same amazing performance. I don’t think there is much room for her to improve, plus all of the rumours of her bullying other contestants comes across as true. She seems egotistical and basks in the fact that she is a great performer. There is confidence and there is an arrogance that comes with it, she has it.

What do you think? Who should have really gone?

X Factor ‘Fashion’ so far…

It’s Friday, which can only mean one thing: another X Factor weekend.

Call me boring, but I’m not sure what to make of all the weird and wonderful outfits that are being showcased every Saturday and Sunday night.

While the judges seem to be getting it so right, the contestants seem to be left hung out to dry wearing a myriade of PVC, plastic, big liners, sequins, crimping…oh the crimping… among other ‘styles’.

That’s not to say I’m expecting boring stage outfits week after week, but surely there’s a happy medium. I nearly keeled over in shock watching week two when I saw Sophie (my fave) take to the stage in a demure, midi length crimson number and understated makeup.

It actually gave me a chance to spend the 1 minute 30 seconds listening to her voice, rather than spending the time harping ‘what is she/he/they wearing…’

According to the press, the X Factor ratings have taken a hit with arch nemesis (ok, BBC competition) Strictly Come Dancing leading the race to entertain the British public.

They say that it’s not as a result of the new judging panel consisting of Kelly Rowland, Tulisa, Louis Walsh and the supposed new Mr Nasty, Gary Barlow and bosses are at a loss as to why the sudden dip in viewings may be.

Hmmmm, I’m just putting this out there, but I’m guessing I’m not the only one wondering if the fountain on top of Kitty’s head (from supposed ‘rock week’) was about to erupt and forgot to listen to her singing.

Simply put, this series of X Factor is all about the outfits and not enough about the singing.

I even find myself struggling to remember what the contestants sang, but have no bother telling you that Rythmix…or whatever they’re soon to be called (#controversy) look like a bag of Skittles exploded on stage or that Frankie looks like he could do with a good bath.

Perhaps dial down on the shiny plastic outfits and give people a chance to listen to the singing?

If you’re reading this X Factor bosses, I used to look forward to what the acts would be wearing, now the it’s just…distracting.

Fashion is one of the most fabulous forms of expression. It should be complimenting the acts and done right it can make acts stand out for all the right reasons.

Tulisa’s new perfume – The Female Boss

Tulisa Contostavlos proved that she’s got the X Factor when she launched her new perfume – The Perfume Boss.

The N-Dubz singer wore the X Factor colours when she attended a signing of her new venture.

In recent weeks, the beauty has been praised by many for her incredible start on the show, showing off her genuine, caring side, as opposed to the rough edge that we’ve sometimes come to expect from her with her band-mates.

Tulisa says: “I wanted a fragrance that I could relate to. Something powerful without losing it’s girlieness. I wanted to be able to wear it day and night. This fragrance will really give the girls the confidence to show those boys who is boss.”

The great thing about the perfume is that it has staying power – you only need a few squirts and the smell lasts all day. Perfect.

Top notes of spices blend with rose and jasmine to give TFB a soft floral heart. Supported by a rich sexy base of sandalwood, amber and moss. As well as exquisite vanilla and musks, The Female Boss perfectly embodies Tulisa’s fervent spirit and sexy personality.

Another great thing about the perfume is that it only comes in 100ml bottles, it’s going to last for ages.

TFB can be found at The Perfume Shop and other leading fragrance retailers, available now.

Oh No, Gamu Nhengu Releasing Christmas Charity Single

It looks like that bird Gamu Nhengu has gotten around her visa issues after blagging some music execs into letting her release a charity single just in time for Christmas.

Obviously not wanting to be outdone by the ‘proper’ X Factor finalists, the 18-year-old has recorded a charity single, had it produced by her old music teacher, and is taking on the Help For Heroes single released by the shows ‘real’ stars.

Considering everyone went mental with Cheryl Cole when she axed Gamu in favour of Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd, I’m wondering whether they’ll get behind Gamu on this track?

Although, with her actually due at the Immigration Court in Glasgow this Friday to appeal the decision not to renew her visa, she might not be able to enjoy the ‘success’ of her first release…

X Factor : Should Belle Amie Have Gone?

I’ve got to be honest, I think Wagner’s time on the X Factor is well and truly up now, but those Belle Amie girls were doing my head in a little bit.

Quite why Louis decided to send the judges to deadlock last night is beyond me, especially since Katie Waissel was obviously the better act in the sing-off, but whatever, she’s still in and she’s still my favourite.

[picappgallerysingle id="10088914"]

Yeah, I know she was shaking like a fake leaf and there didn’t seem to be any water coming out of her eyes despite looking like she was crying, but at least she didn’t declare “It’s not the end of us!” like Belle Amie… Tee hee, unfortunately girls, we’re thinking that it probably is…

How brilliant was it though when Dermot O’Leary asked Mary Byrne and Wagner how they’d enjoyed singing with Bon Jovi and the pair replied but their mics were both turned off! Brilliant! Guess that answers those results show miming rumours!

X Factor : Cher Lloyd Branded A Liar & Fraud

Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel are really having a tough time of it on this year’s X Factor, and now The Daily Mail has reported a video has appeared on YouTube claiming much of Cher’s swagger is actually that of other artists.

First off, how many people ‘swagger’ in the world of rap these days eh? I think quite a few, it’s not like Cher pretends to have made it up all by herself is it? But even so, this vid calls Cher a liar and unoriginal, especially when she says she wrote the lyrics to the song she goes on to perform in her first audition.

According to Cher she; “put a lot of thought into my song but I’ve decided to put a bit of a twist on it, sort of like a rap. And I wrote my own lyrics as well to the beginning of the song.”

[picappgallerysingle id="9970590"]

The clip shows Cher rapping the beginning of her song which appears to have the exact lyrics as a Swizz Beatz “That Oprah” song from 2008 and then the verse she sings has the same lyrics as Coldplay’s 2008 hit “Viva La Vida”.

It also shows Cher performing her rap in the first live show. These lyrics are from Professor Green’s “Just Be Good to Green”.

But since the X Factor is all about covering old songs and putting your own mark on them, can we really make such a big fuss about it all? The YouTube clip has already had almost one million hits with people commenting on how Cher has been given unfair opportunities by her mentor Cheryl Cole.

So FemaleFirst readers, what do YOU think?

Gamu Nhengu Isn’t Going To Let Deportation Stop Her Getting A Record Deal

Oh Lordy, just when I thought I’d heard the last of X Factor reject Gamu Nhengu, it looks as though her sob story has landed her a record deal anyway!

The 18-year-old wannabe has been blabbing to The Metro she’s been “approached by several major record companies and I’m deciding the best one.” Brilliant.

Oddly, she even blagged her way into the MOBO’s earlier this week – we don’t know why either – but she still had time to gossip to reporters about adjusting to her new found fame and dealing with all the controversy, “I’m all right, yeah. It was a little bit difficult at the time but you kind of deal with it. You tell yourself to calm down and breathe and everything is fine.”

Isn’t it great to see that Gamu isn’t going to let a small issue like a lack of a visa expiration and possible deportation keep her from her dream. Gotta love the British government.
