Who is your favourite player of all-time?

Mine has to be Ally McCoist, Rangers top goalscorer and the last World-Class striker that Scotland had.

As a uk man myself I naturally love the beautiful game but I am also a big fan of American football

Some of my favourites over the years have been

Art Monk
Jerry Rice
Joe Montana
That fella that did the shark dance

All class and are the main reason I watch today, even if it does take 4 hours to play!

Aussies?

D. Maradona is by far the best player I have ever seen. Not only the best footballer but had a great will to win!

Get well soon Diego

Got to be Milene Domingues.

"Who?" I hear you ask. Only Ronaldo's ex-wife.

Seriously though, it's got to be Diego Maradona. He may be a fat, thugish, little coke head now, but he was a legend on the pitch. Johan Cruyff runs him close though and i'd say that he's my personal favourite. Then of course there's Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler, Kenny Dalgliesh, John Barnes, Peter Beardsley, Steven Gerrard etc etc.

Least favourite player is a tough one though. Not sure whether i despise Vinnie Jones or El Hadji Diouf the most. Two players with no redeeming features at all. On balance i'd pick Vinnie. Nasty, just plain nasty.

Now I know I'm only a woman, but surely the fat overrated Argentinian (with a career shorter than his legs) doesn't come close to the likes of Pele

He may well have been, but the thread is titled "Favourite Football Player" not "Best Football Player." Diego is my favourite player, but i would not presume to judge him the best. I will leave that to those with a greater knowledge of the game than i.

Michael Owen

 Michael Owen is the best football player in my mind for many reasons. First of all, I like England football team since I am eleven years old. The first day that I saw Owen played is the match that England completed with Argentina in World Cup’98. Even though England had lost in this match but Owen did a fantastic goal which I haven’t seen before. I was interested in him since that day and would like to see him play again. Second, in my opinion, he is a complete striker. He has every skill which striker should have. For example, he is very dangerous when he get a ball in the penalty area. He is very fast and if he has some areas to play, it will be very hard for defenders to block him. He also has stamina even though his body is so small. Third, he has hard effort. He has never surrendered to any obstacles. The worst matter that had recently happened in his life is about his decision which moved from Liverpool to Real Madrid. Initially, he was looked like no future in Spain. Someone think that he can’t play with many superstars in team but now Owen can subtract that insult by making scores continually for this top team of the world. Fourth, good son, good brother, good husband and good man are Michael Owen. He is not only has good habit in football field but also be a good person outside the field. Even though he has a lot of money now but he has never boasted and performed like a rich and he has never forgotten his family, he loves them a lot. He always obeys his parents and he is a grateful child. In his life he has only one girl friend and now she is her wife. In brief, I like Michael Owen since the first day that I saw him. He is a warm man in my side. Maybe he isn’t a great football player when compare with some fantastic players but he always make good works both inside and outside the field.

Thierry Henry...didn't actually realise he was a footballer until about a year ago (I know, I'm not with it) I just saw him in those adverts looking gorgeous with his lovely accent and and....*sigh* :D
