The ENQUIRER exclusively reports that the 24-year marriage of Oscar-winning Hollywood vet Morgan Freeman has collapsed,
Freeman's wife Myrna, 67, is consulting a divorce attorney after hearing that Morgan cheated on her - and the 71-year-old Wanted star is devastated, sources say.
"Myrna was terribly upset when she heard Morgan had become intimate with a woman who had been her friend," a close friend of the family told The ENQUIRER.
Meanwhile, Freeman - who stars in the new Batman flick The Dark Knight as weapons master Lucius Fox, "is considering cutting back on his film roles until his personal life is healed," revealed an insider.
"Morgan is in shock over his marriage ending. He's one of Hollywood's most in-demand actors, but right now he wants to focus on his personal life," said the source.

Messed UP! Poor Mrs. Freeman. I like MF so much as an actor, it's really SAD that he was cheating on her. I hope they can heal the wounds and stay together.
joliar is a given for cheating on everyone she's ever been with, now Morgan Freeman is exposed as a cheat!! And I remember the rumors about joliar trying to sabotage what's his names marriage with more explicit sex scenes that weren't in the original script!!!

Morgan comes across great on screen, but in recent years, I've sadly had cause to reconsider. Interviews where he's really arrogant and flip, which SHOCKED me, little things he's said...I don't know. He's an actor. He has this great persona but it's obviously not him, and I for one was pretty disappointed. So, this does not surprise me. Oh, and it is much the same as being disappointed by my perception of Clint, and the man himself. They are a lot alike, same sign too, and no, I don't want to slam Gem's. Just an oddity here, imo.
YUP. Funny, that, eh? If he WAS in fact "stepping out on the side", it's certainly ENTIRELY possible he AVAILED himself of MANGY'S "services " AS WELL! Don't forget, he was HANGING OUT with HER "and the kids" ONSET...remember, he was 'reading them bedtime stories" and they called him "Uncle Morgan" yadda yadda. That sounds a bit TOO "cozy" to ME...there is a chapter in "The Satanic Witch" on how to use your KIDS as a "tool for seduction", BTW!
Ol' Morgan was probably "co.ck-comforting" her when Brad "bolted" from PRAGUE; remember that? MAYBE THAT'S WHY HE LEFT; he found out Mangy was "servicing" the producer and her co-star(s). We already speculated about this; how "suck-uppy" everyone was talking about her, save for James McAvoy (and who knows about HIM, even! You know how men are about BLOW JOBS...MANY of them don't even see it as "cheating"!)

wow... and he is how old????? and with a close friend of the fAMILY...... with one of her friends..... His wife must feel so betyrayed!!!!! with friends like that who needs enemies...?

Funny THAT, eh? I wonder WHEN exactly he cheated...was this a long time ago or RECENTLY? Maybe Jolie put a voodoo spell on him while working with him on "Wanted" and he got a DELAYED REACTION, to SOMEONE ELSE!>snicker<

I did read someone recently that he was getting a divorce.
Sad story , didn't see it coming. Freeman of all people at age 71.
I don't wanna put him down but he should hav shown more DIGNITY at that age, he should have known better after so many years.
He seems so dignified and proud in movies, now that picture crashes down, and I get an image of a 71 year old man lusting after and having sex with slutty women.
That is sad.
