Don't be naive, my friend has a child with a woman and she won't let him see him. She takes the cheque every month but won't give him access. It's understandable if she's been treated like the OP, I don't blame her at all and for those who criticize girls who are placed in unfortunate situations like this, people on the outside can never know how much hurt these selfish men cause. If it goes that far the new girlfriend had better prepare herself to be involved with his ex and their baby, because she will be involved and she will have the majority of the rights. Don't be the mother who's kid grows up to resent yu because yu kept him out of their life.
If you're worried, have someone who yu feel safe with or trust to take yur child, somewhere public to see him. Then the child can make their own decisions, never cloud their view as this will probably lead to them turning on yu and blaming yu in future.

I'm sorry, I refuse to date a woman with a kid, so do most guys I know. It isn't my responsibility she got herself pregnant by an asshole. He is the childs father, and has a right to visit. If she doesn't want to be around, it can be a supervised visit, but he still has the right. If women can't accept that fact, than they need to exert more control over their reproductive patterns.
