My first relationship lasted 6 years from age 11 to 17 and i found myself going through an identity crisis because i wasn't used to sharing my life and i didn't know who i was anymore. It was just small things like when i would get my hair cut i used to get it cut how i thought he would like it. i felt like i wasn't being myself and that i didn't really love him and that i could never commit to anyone or love anyone. When i broke up with him it took a long time but i really found myself and after 2 years i was ready to start dating my latest boyfriend. My boyfriend is 26 but he broke up with me on monday. He said he was confused and he didn't know how he felt and after asking loads of questions i realized he was going through the exact same thing as me when i was 17.
Has anyone else gone through this? I thought my problem was that i was an adolescence and thats supposed to be the time you find yourself.
It was my boyfriends first relationship so i was wondering whether its an age thing or whether everyone goes through it with their first real relationship?
I spoke to my first boyfriend and he said his relationship after me ended the same way.
