Her brother is supposed to be in France, right? If her mom is dead, and she has no relationship with her dad, then who would be the person who would be asked to make a decision on her behalf? Can't be Brad - he is not husband or relative, so it would have to be Uncle Jamie. Who else would there be?

I'm not sure what they are, but even if they were very leniant I don't think they would easily commit such a famous high profile and non-citizen.
Brad is probably trying to push her over the edge until she attempts suicide and then they can probably lock her up "for her own good."
