I can't really describe it - probably the kind of shoulders which are in proportion to the hips and suggest that the woman might work-out occasionally - I stress the word 'occasionally' as I find muscular shoulders on women to be a big turn off.

For athletic shoulders, see Angelina Jolie or Natasha Bedingfield.

I love broad shoulders on women. Toned and firm, but not necessarily "muscular". It definitely gives a more athletic look, and makes the waist look slimmer.

I have broad shoulders and I think they are my best asset. I'm in the gym a lot keeping them looking toned and defined, they look great in vests in the summer Cool

when embracing an athletic/broad shoulders girl, it feels a kind of like hugging a labrador/dalmatian; small/slender shoulders, on the other hand, feels very small cat; so the general arguments of cats or dogs apply ... kitty, kitty, kitty Laughing

Being feminine has nothing to do with smaller shoulders - just look at Angelina Jolie, she's got athletic shoulders and is easily ten times better looking than any woman on this forum.

Do you prefer to see a woman with broad shoulders or small shoulders? I ask this because I have medium sized shoulders and I would just love to have broad shoulders, I think they make a woman look very elegant, but I'd like to find out what other people think about this.

medium is best. i also like then thin. i don't care for women with swimmers bodies.

I have broad shoulders. Not hugely broad, but I am wider on my shoulders than on my hips.

Certain clothes looks really good with such a physique, such as sports clothes, slinky dresses, structured jackets. Other clothes don't look so nice, e.g. drawstring tops.

On the whole, having broad shoulders is like having a clothes hanger permanently on my body. Clothes generally hang better.

The type of shoulder on a woman does not define her personality, and in general, unless the body shape is extreme (very fat, very skinny, very muscular, etc), it is not even noticeable.
