Firstly, I am not a husband, so there was no wife to tell me whether or not to pirece my ears.

It was a long while back, in 1977, when I decided to join the confraternity of the pierced. Did it myself, at home.

At that time, not so many men had pierced ears, so it was something of a curiousity. I persevered though, and added more piercings as the years went by.

Now, for social events and dates, I usually wear three silver hoops and a zircon stud in each ear.

Thre are few comments, any more, except from women who find it sexy.

My latest thing is brightly polished acrylic fingernails, in glittery peacock blue. This does elicit some comment, both positive and negative. Lots of gals compliment the nails, though.

Do you think that I would look stupid at my age.

Well I bought some hoop earings and put them both in one ear as I had two holes in my left earmy wife noticed them and told me to take them out as I looked stupid I was gutted and took them out.
What I wanted to do was to have my right ear pierced so that I could wear them in each ear so as I say I am gutted.

What would your wife say if you told her to take her earrings out?! I think it is wrong for a spouse to not support the other. You should talk with your wife and let her know that you want to wear earrings and that they are simply nothing more than an accessory like a necklace, watch, bracelet, etc. Let he know that it isn't fair that she not allow you to have this freedom. Get your right ear pierced and put your earrings back in.

Hi I have decided to tell my wife that I want both ears pierced so that I can wear a pair of earings and that I am going into town on Saturday to get it done. it is up to her if she likes it or not.
Thanks for the replys that have made me decide to have it done many Thanks
Steve

I thought that I would bring you up to speed on my earings well I was sat at my computer two weeks ago the wife had gone to bed and I was reading messages on this forum I had such an urge to have both my ears pierced that I got my earings out of the draw and a needle went in to the hall and pushed the needle through my right ear I then pushed it all the way through and followed behind with a hoop earing I then put my left earing in and went to bed.
In the morning she did not notice it at first but when she came up wth a cup of tea she noticed my ears she asked me if I hd pierced my right ear I said yes she said take them out you look stupid I said no and that was the end of subject.
Well later on she put some of the solution you put on newly pierced ears since then she has been doing it daily and i think she has got used to them now so i am chuffed. so if there are any guys out there that are hovering about having both ears pierced go and do it I love my earings.

That's great news - and you get tea in bed as well? Wow, you are one lucky fella Very Happy

And yes, if there any ditherers out there - and I bet there could be quite a few - go ahead and get those ears pierced, eh? You'll be glad you did, but do go to a professional, eh

I've been trying to convince my 46 year-old husband to get at least one of his ears pierced for 15 years, and last year he finally gave in and let me pierce both of his ears. I love them! I'm not sure why, but I find them very sexy, a turn-on for me. I love to play with his earrings. He is glad that we did it, too. He works in creative field, so that sort of thing is not really frowned upon as much as in some other professions.

I am very piercing-oriented myself, with 10 in each ear. Now that my husband has broken the ice, we are both thinking about moving "below the neck" for our next piercings.

i got my first ear piercing done today, just one in my left ear, but it's very exciting, the girl who did it at Piercing Pagoda tried to talk me into both ears, but i wanted to see how this goes over first. It's my birthday present to myself.

Check out which of your friends is the next to have a birthday, and do the right one to celebrate his/her birthday - you're not going to wait a whole year are you? Any way, good for you, hope all goes well.

What a shame the girl piercing you ear didn't persuade you to have both done.
I am sure you will be back soon having the other one done.

I am a 35 year old male. I had wanted to get my ears pierced since I was 16 and had a girlfriend who was really into it. A couple of times she pierced me but fear of my parents alwsys got me to take them out.

Finally I broached the subject with my wife and she told me to think about it. I did and when we discussed it the next time she saiud ok. I was too nervous to go to Claires or a salon but one day she sat me down and took out a piercing gun she had ordered. She proceeded to pierce each earlobe and that was that.

I work in a conservative office and take my earrings out when I'm in the office or working with clients and wear them most of the remaining time. The good thing with earings is that you can take them out. Sure people will make fun of you for the first few days or weeks but eventually they get used to it and back off. I pull six figures in salary and work with a fair number of clineets and at worst I look like I had then pierced when I was younger. The trick for me is to remove them the evening before I go in or wear thin wire hoops/studs. That way when I get to the office the holes have shrunk a little and it looks like I don't wear them anymnore.

Lately I have been thinking about getting my ears pierced again so I can wear double hoops or a hoop/stud combination. My wife wants to pierce me twice more so we are thinking about triple or double at the moment. It's nice to have the support and I have to admit that the feel of earings is nice. I'm glad I did it. It's nice to be able to wear earings when I want to and take them out when not appropriate. I even like to wear fish hook drop earings or large hoops at home as the weight pulling on my lobe is nice. My wife enven selects jewelry for me to wear from time to time. I'm glad I had it done and just wish I had done it years earlier.

30 Something
It is a similar story for my husband Brian, he has managerial job where earrings might be frowned upon but he still had his ears pierced May last year, although it was my idea for him to have them done. He didn't really have any negative reaction to his earrings at all.
I have to say, I think your wife is quite brave piercing your ears for you although I wanted Brian to have earrings I would not have dared to do the piercing. Brian had to face the embarrassment of going to Claires to have his done but they were great in Claires, I think it is quite common now for men to go into Claires to have their ears pierced.
Brian has not regretted having his done for one moment he loves the ability to wear earrings as and when he wants.

I have got my ears pierced...in a really funny way.
I am 43 years old and how I got them done as a 15 year old in 1978 is quite bizarre.
We were at school and our chemistry teacher, Mrs Bellfield, threatened all the boys in our class with a detention if we played up. Needless to say we still played up and were given a detention for the following week.
She then told us a few days later that during the detention that she was going to have, as an extra punishment, both of the ears pierced on each boy.
A letter went home to our parents to say what was happening. I thought my parents would object but my mother was all for the idea( not surprising really, because my mother was a hairdresser and I was the only guy in our school in 1978 with blonde highlights).
All the boys were really complaining about the idea of the pierced ears. But I secretly loved the idea.

Anyway, detention night came along and Mrs Bellfield was true to her word.
She brought in one of my mothers colleagues from the hair salon, who pierced the ears of about 15 boys.
I was one of the last ones done at the end of the detention.
All the lads moaned including me, but I was only pretending....I adored the piercings.
Far from being a punishment, I was in heaven.
I have worn earrings to this day and would not feel comfortable without them.
Many years later I bumped into Mrs Bellfield and thanked her for piercing my ears. She kissed me and said "anytime you fancy a detention just call me".
Since our meeting she has been to dinner with me and my wife several times and every time we chat about the ear piercing.
Thank you Mrs B.
