Husbands with pierced ears?

It just shows that there are some really lovely teachers out there.
It's ridiculas (sp?) that you could not do this to a child anymore in this day and age.

After reading trhough this thread, I can empathise with many of the stories. As a thirty something husband I look back on piercing my left ear when I was 18. I took the stud out soon after as I wasn't ready for an earring back then. I just didn't have the inner strength to be myself and tell my friends I was going to be to was I was going to be in the face of potential criticism. I still have an obvious scar in my ear and could probably push an earring through it now. Maybe I've hit a middle age crisis but I think maybe I should just grab an earring and put it in. After reading through this forum, it seems that these days both ears is the way to go to avoid looking like the eighties child that I am. Like many on this forum. Like many on this forum I wish that men with pierced ears were as acceptable as women. However our culture deems acts of vanity like this to mostly in the domain of women. Which is a shame.[/quote]

I am 37. married & decided about six months ago I was going to get an earring. My wife couldn't figure out why, but she didn't stop me. I pierced my left ear & am so glad I did. I love having it & get lots of compliments. If you really want to do it, I say go for it.

Have you approached this topic with your wife? Are you most concerned with her reaction to your wanting an earring, or is it more a problem at work? I suggest you casually allude to your desire next time you're out with your wife and you observe another fellow of similar age/stature wearing an earring or two. Comment on how you feel the style looks good on him and joke about the possiblity of getting an earring for your own empty hole. You may be surprised about her reaction. She may be negative at first, but with a few more casual conversations, she may warm up to the idea, and with at least one vote of approval, you may just muster the courage to get an earring to fill that hole. (The hole in your ear will be complete once again, but more importantly, your inner desire for the earring will be fulfilled.) After getting used to the one and fielding the reactions of friends, relatives and work associates, you can slip in the right ear piercing in a few months with little or no commotion.

My advice to you is to stop repressing your desire to do this, and force yourself to act on the desire. Do it gradually by talking about it first. Once you've made the move, you will be a happier man. I was in the exact same boat, and when I finally could no longer repress the urge, the reaction to my piercing was no big deal. I have since added the right ear and I am finally where I wanted to be for so many years.

men with pierced ears are so sexy!!! my husband only has one set of earring in his ears they are just about healed and im going to talk him in to letting me pierce him one more time. i also want are sons ears pierce but my husband said no.

I agree men wearing earrings are very sexy. It will be 2 years in may since my husband Brian had his ears pierced and still find his earrings very sexy indeed.
I am not a fan of multiple earrings for men I like to see just one stud in each ear, normally Brian wears his original piercing studs but for christmas I bought him a pair of diamond studs. Brian wasn't sure about the diamonds at first, it wasn't until he had his hair re-highlighted just after christmas that he changed his mind. When Lisa our mobile hairdresser to came to highlight Brian's hair I told her that I had got Brian a pair of diamond studs for christmas but he would not wear them. She suggested that it might be a good idea to make the highlights in Brian's hair lighter than previously then the diamonds would look better against his hair.
Once Lisa had finished his hair I handed her the diamond studs and she took out his piercing studs and put the diamonds in, he looked amazing even though he was still wearing his gown and plastic cape.

I don't understand why your husband doesn't want your son to have earrings our son had his pierced at the same visit to Claires as when Brian had his done.
I think it is better to have your ears done as a child rather than waiting until adulthood. Brian was really embarrassed when he was having his done in Claires surounded by onlookers.

How old is your son? if hes old enough to decide for himself that he wants them then I see no reason why not to go ahead, obviously if he doesnt then to force them upon him would be wrong but I'm sure you wouldn't do that.

And just for the record, I would wear a pair any day, but I don't.... not acceptable in my circumstance currently.

as a guy living in a conservative yet open minded communitie i got both ears pierced tiwice at the age of 13 . that becasue i was jelous off my sisters who got pierced ears and as a lonely child ...
i say i have lots of fun wearring ears and now after 12 years they still are fun ... so if you take your son to get them done i would say go and do it ...

Just found this post and I too am a husband that wants a second set of pierced earrings. I have both ears pierced with one hole healed well. for years.... Good thing is that my wife is all for it. Several times I have pierced them and not kept them in. Like on vacation an such. Not sure when I can do it with healing time and all , but it will happen soon. I love the hoops in my ears now and I think a second hole with a small diamond stud will look perfect.
I still don't wear earrings in public much. Some day.
I am 52 now and I guess I shouldn't put it off too long.
