What's worse, C-section or Vaginal?

Postby Guest on Sat Aug 27, 2005 3:42 am

Whats worse, a c-section or a vaginal delivery? Is a tummy tuck more invasive then a c-section? I Need to know since I have a choice on how I want to deliver. Don't know yet if I need a tummy tuck, but would like to know just in case. Any info would be great! Thanks

Hi, As a mother of 35 with 4 kids whos done both, c section and vaginal some of the above advice is ciorrect....you do forget (kinda ) after the pain of vaginal but c section pain continues for several weeks or months (if problems with scar).
In terms of eating right and stopping at 3 or kinds to keep get figure back without surgery...sorry but this isnt always the case.
Like I said I ve had 4 kids and had healthy my weight was in a goood healthy range each tim. I also lost it within a short time...but being only 5 foot 1 the carrying of my 6 and 7 pound babies caused stretch marks which were unavoidable...The muscles of my stomache have been seperated also and my Dr has recommended surgery to repair them since Im finished having bubs... Also although the stretch marks fade they never disppear completely and mine look like a road map, although faint the skin is lose as a result of the irrepairably stretched skin...BTW a lot of ill informed people will also advise you to use creams to prevent them but sadly this is also rot....NOTHING will prevent them if you are a genetically predisposed to them..Yes you can keep weight gain reasonable to minimise them but this is no guarantee.....believe me.....
At the end of the day its always a risk, either way, your body will change, (not always for the worse, I actually think a womans body is much more beautiful after pregnancy, (despite what the media and my H think lol..).
Do what you think is right for you, keep healthy accep[t the changes that occur and enjoy motherhood....

I think the jury is still out on this one. Me and my sister both had babies within a year of each other. She used nothing but I massaged my bump with coconut oil everyday for the last three months of pregnancy. She now has terrible stretch marks whereas mine are very faint. We are both of similar build and weight. Even if it doesn't work for you it's not likely to do any harm and might be worth a try. :)

hi i had 14 hours labour then had to have an emergency c-section

for me the c-section was worse after, i found it difficult to be mobile for about a week when i turned to my side.

the one great thing though is i do not have any stretch marks from my pregnancy at all. I was back into my size 8 jeans within a week, i breast fed which i think helped alot. I never used creams because i believe no matter what if your liable to get stretch marks you will probably get them, but some of my friends have them and there is nothing to be worried about, they fade to a silverish colour which are barely noticible.

anyhow for me i would go with vaginal delivery, you can always have epidural so you dont feel a thing!!
