I was married 10 years ago, Shortest catholic wedding in history,
asked my priest to do the minumun service 15 minutes tops.
Keep in mind , most guest don't remember much of the extra stuff you will put into a wedding, so keep it simple, simple can be just has beautiful.
Remember its your wedding not your families or guest , its your choices to have or what not to have.
I had no rehearsal dinner, saved money there, don't have to have one if you don't want,
No one I now enjoys them anyway. serve up a couple of pizza and a couple of beers at home if you need to do that.
I only had 4 attendants and my daughter, 2 for me 2 for him, cuts back on gift expense and flower expence. only invited immediate family to the church, I had 35 people total. no decorations in the church, they usually already have flowers on the alter.
ordered my invites from local news paper office, , very simple one fold, inviting them to the reception and dance, a small card was included inviting your family to the church.
Most people don't keep the invite anyway so don't spend a lot of money on them.
the reception was limited to 1st cousins and and aunts and uncles, and closest friends,.
Invite the rest to the wedding dance, via news paper add, or small post card, for none locals guest.
"Welcome friends and family to help celebrate the wedding of .........."
include date, time, where
made my own flowes(go to your local library for books), vail, (vail netting is about $.99 yrd) you can find patterns at a fabric store,
my mother made the dresses for about $55 dollars ea.
look for a wedding dress that is last years model much cheaper! about 1/2 the price and just as beautiful.
had a close friend that was an amature photographer take our pictures
I bought the film and developed the pictures at photo shop, and I got to keep all my proofs. took the pictures I wanted and got them enlarged
much cheeper at the photo shop.
reception was at a local club that had a dance floor, we brought in tables and had the food catered had an open bar for a pre set dollar amount.
hope this is some help for some ideas on beautiful, inexpensive wedding.
Best wishes
