Nope, I don't use firefox, just explorer.

Question - I use Norton Internet Security, ie firewall NAV etc etc (about 4 things I think) and Lavasoft Adaware; do I need that antispyware thingie just mentioned? :?

I use Avast AV, freeware, and has caught everything that all the others have missed. Brilliant, and updates well, no glitches.
For a browser I use Opera, which has a really nifty pop-up blocker. Amazing interface, and I find much better than IE, which is so full of vulnerabilities and holes it should be called the Emmentaler Express.

I recommend zonealarm.com for Windows based PCs.

It has great anti virus and anti spyware protection.

It also has parental controls and a number of other great protection features you should not be on the www without.

Ad aware in tests detects around 100% of the spyware but only removes around anywhere between 50-75% of the spyware it catches. Also it has no blocking abilities what so ever, by that I mean the free version. What is even better is the version of ad aware that does cost money all it adds is shields to prevent installation and whats so great about these shields is that in tests they are completely useless.

Sweesee if I were you just try the 14 day trial version of spysweeper. Spysweeper is the best antispyware product on the market. Highes detection, removal, and the best spyware shields also.
Of course it doesn't hurt to F*** them for an hour or so and give them like three to eight orgasms now and again. That generally keeps girls loyal. - Averick

I use firefox, it is a better browser and well worth giving a go. I have been using it and Mozilla (which came before it) for years and have found them to be safer to use and faster to evolve with the internet.

However, there are still some websites that are poorly designed and as such may not work properly in firefox. When this happens (which is rare nowadays) I have to use internet explorer, it's at times like this I realise how much I dislike IE as it looks and feels old and out of date.

For anti virus I use:

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5

It's free and has regular updates

You my want a free firewall, I use Sygate personal firewall which is also free.

using these two I've not had any problems after several years of .

Hum,
Nope, I don't use explorer, just firefox.

Better , faster, stronger - they can rebuild a new updated version every few weeks, so, its very secure.

Have a blast with the ultrafast `Opera` too,,,
