No, Anglesey in Wales. Looks stunning from what I've seen on the net but would be nice to talk to people who have been there before.

Not sure about Anglesey but just came back from Exmoor and that was brill.. I found Angelsey a bit flat in comparison. There`s a webcam of just up the road from where we were. http://www.exmoor-accommodation.co.uk/webcam/webcams.htm

Instead of going to Anglesey, stop off in Snowdonia. Betws-y-Coed is beautiful and the mountain scenery is fantastic. For foofd check out The Old Ship in Trefriw or the Newborough Arms a mile or so north of the village.

didn't they have some rule recently where if you didn't speak in welsh to the locals then they'd refuse to talk back to you in shops, etc...?

Might just be a rumor, but still a bit stupid in my opinion!

I wish I had found this forum sooner... but I hope it was a good holiday, if you came to Anglesey.
I have lived here about a year and have found the natives very friendly, although I am English.

Nutters right! If you're English you do get ignored in some shops! They will refuse to speak English to you! This has happened to me several times.

Especially if it is an estate agents!

Anglesey is grim. Its always been blowing agale whenever I've been there! I suggest catching the ferry to Dublin from Holyhead! Very cheap if you are a foot passenger. :-)
