Take for instance the Liberal position that everyone is equal...
Well, that mentality has to lower the bar so everyone can get a good passing grade.
IE gold medal Olympians are not to be role models because they excel.

FOUNDATIONAL EQUALITY - that all are equal, born free, and have natural rights. This principle includes the Millian concept of "I am free insofar as I do not harm another", which forbids murder and abortion.

EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY - that all are not denied access to education, to healthcare and to jobs. That no barriers should exist to prevent them, that they rise on the basis of merit, and merit only - not class, wealth, gender or race.

EQUALITY BEFORE THE LAW - that EVERYONE is equal before the law and that discrimination to ANYONE is unacceptable.

AT NO POINT DO LIBERALS CLAIM THAT ALL ARE OF EQUAL ABILITY AND SKILL. THEY BELIEVE EVERYONE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO SUCCEED GIVEN A FAIR AND EQUAL CHANCE.

It is strange that myron was also ignorant of what LIBERALISM actually involves.

NOW GET A F****** EDUCATION.

But to learn - you'll have to come to Great Britain. They don't teach in American schools - and you are the proof.

Oh Freddy! Coming from a family of educators, do you know who usually presses the school boards to put their special needs children in mainstream classrooms? Conservative parents. They take the same philosophy as you, the struggle will build character. They also harbor a secret shame that they could produce a defective child. If schools were allowed to run properly, emotionally impaired kids, special needs children would be in a tailored program to help them learn their way. Not by some standardized test, engineered by conservative consultants to rig the numbers rather than fix the root problem. You want smarter kids? You want future generations able to think on their feet? Get out your checkbook! Schools and well trained teachers cost money! They are certainly worth more than what they get paid by "smaller government." Every time you vote down a millage because you don't want higher taxes, children pay the price; entire communities pay the price when high school seniors can smile and offer fries with an order simultaneously, but CAN'T fill out a tax form.

I dont think were talking about the same thing.
I don't think better paid teachers will start them to teach morals and judgement.

Although you may have a point if your point is underpaid and defeatist teachers want a social state because they consider themselves losers!

People ARE in fact denied that. In 2001 some blacks were denied the right to vote. To this day atheists and gays are hounded from schools, universities, the boy scouts and more. Therefore, they are not free or equal, and your society isn't. That is due to Republicanism.

You earn, but you must pay taxes. You must pay for what the government demands. You may not like nuclear weapons - but you cannot specify that your money isn't used to buy them. You may not like free healthcare (you would if you had it Fred - live in the UK for 6 months and you'll see) but you must do as you are commanded.

Well my dear Fred - if any so-creator ignores anything good I have done in my life time, then he wouldn't be worth believing in, or following anyway. I am to burn in hell for all eternity simply for that, what is the point of life? The answer is, there is no point.

My eldest has just started university. Not so he can sit on his behind and spend my money - but so he can get the job he wants. Which to him will be either a politician, economic or banker.
