Sometimes they come and go multiple times during a single bath!

Kimmy - partial erections are very common, even for young boys. As someone posted recently, erections can happen for a variety of reasons, and don't even have to be sexual in nature. For me I recall often getting "full blown" erections as you called them in front of the babysitter, but I'm sure it was far more often that because I was being seen or some physical contact (washing my private areas or rinsing with the water) that it would grow a little bit before returning to normal. And you're right that sometimes the boy may not even notice - sometimes you don't until it's all the way up!

Thanks to everyone for all these posts. Now I'm not worried about what to do if one of the boys I sit for gets an erection in the bath (I posted earlier in the week). Based on what some people have said, now I think that the older boy sometimes gets "half erections" - it gets a little longer perhaps, or raises a bit (maybe to almost horizontal), but not a full blown erection. He doesn't seem to get embarrassed about it - just has a bit of general embarrassment about being naked I guess. So he may not even notice it when it is happening. But even if it does at least I have some idea of how to deal with it!

Whatever you do if he gets a full blown erection, don´t look embarrassed. The first time that happens to him he will probably be embarrassed with it because he may believe he is misbehaving. If you look embarrassed it will just make him feel even worse and more guilty. If he doesn´t look embarrassed just ignore it. If he looks embarrassed don´t just ignore it but reassure him, instead. Smile and tell him there is nothing wrong with it and he is not in any way misbehaving.

I have in the past looked after 12 to 16 year old boys I remember baby sitting one 16 year old that played foot ball a lot and got mud all over him self if I was there when he had been in the back yard playing and had not had a bath with his mother heping him before i got there i had to help him i was 19 at the time it was very interesting for me i had not seen any naked boys before this one. I washed is manhood when it was erect i think it was good for him having a young girl see and feel is private parts and it was an inste for me getting to know the male body well he was not shy at all some of the boys i baby sat for latter was a bit shy at first but soon got over it

I'm actually off tomorrow for a few weeks. I have been asked to go on vacation with family friends I babysit for on a regular basis. They have three kids, boys are 11 (birthday next week) and 8 and girl is 10, and I regularly give all of them their baths. This is a combination work/vacation trip - I am supposed to watch the kids so the parents have some time to themselves. Sounds like fun! Apparently they rent a house that has a private beach and at least through last year the kids were all swimming naked! Will be interesting to see if they all still do that, even the oldest boy. Like I said, I already help with bath time, but it would be cute to see!

No, I won't be going naked! It will be interesting to see how they interact. They always have their baths separately, at least since I've been involved. It was only when the parents asked me if I'd be interested in coming along that they mentioned this. I think the parents have been to nudist colonies before, but they assured me it would only be the kids on this trip. They'll be playing golf most of the time anyway. I'll let you know how it goes when I get back.

No, my son didn't have a problem at all with me bathing him till he was 11. He never gave me a hard time about it and even reminded me on occasion if I seemed to forget about it. He did start to get erections more often as he got older as you can imagine. He didn't object to his sister bathing him either, though he was furious when he found out that she was discussing his erections with her friends. I scolded her about that and she stopped, or at least we think she stopped. Did you get erections when your mother bathed you too? How did you react?

Once you and your daughter stopped bathing him did he became shy about being seen naked by either of you? My brother hasn´t. He is 14, we stopped checking him in the bath when he was 12, but he didn´t became embarrassed with being seen naked after that, and has no problem undressing in front of us or coming out of the bathroom naked after taking a shower.

what about if he was erect did he cover it up then. When I was baby sitting if they started covering it up i told them to take the cover off i did not want them to get a complex about that part of there body

The oldest I was when I had a babysitter bathe me was about 5 from what I remember. My mother stopped giving me baths when I was about eight or nine. After that I started taking showers instead. Michelle R, and Former Babysitter, if you have been giving children baths have you ever had to supervise boys while using the toilet or take them into public restrooms? If so did they object to you taking them into public restrooms? Some children get embarrassed being taken into the restroom of the opposite sex and refuse to do so. If you're giving a boy a bath and he urinated on you how would you react?

Ben.. There were times when I had to assist young boys when they peed. Otherwise I never had to help them or take them into a public restroom since I was always in the house with them.

If the girl is 10 and the boy is turning 11 next week....um...I know it's still possible BUT I find it odd that somebody after a 9 month pregnancy would jump back on the horse for another in that quick amount of time. That can't be good for the body.

That is good boys and young men should never hide there genitals even if they have an erection from there mother or babysitter and if they have a forskin they should pull it back so the mother /babysitter can check it is clean
