Have you considered just wearing socks and not bothering with shoes? You would be comfy and although you would still have to be carefull where you walk, it might be easier and not look as obvious as gong totally barefoot.

I don't understand why some people get wo wound up about others going barefoot. It's not as if anyone was insisting that they do the same.
My wife goes barefoot most of the time a habit she copied from her mother who says that when she was in her teens it was not uncommon.
My wife is fortunate to have a job where they don't object to her being barefoot.
If you like the idea of being barefoot then go for it, don't worry about what other people think!

She's the accounts manager in the office of a company about 1 mile from home. She walks there bare foot most days.

A lot of guys like nice looking feet, so you might consider that if you go barefoot everywhere your feet will soon look like an animal paw or something. I think I would try flip flops or something for a lot of public places.
