I prefer barefoot to those horrible wedge shoes that seem to be making a comeback. They look as if a girl has tied a brick to each foot.

Also, does she go barfoot all year roud?

Sorry I haven't replied sooner, been away for a week.
She only takes shoes if she knows she is going out to visit a customer.
She goes barefoot most of the year but she will wear something on her feet if its below freezing.

Thanks for the reply?

Does she ever get caught having to visit a customer and not having any shoes with her to wear then?

One 'suggested' new (ie re-instated station) at merlin (for the erstwhile Kitty) IS THAT IT?? WHERE IS THE long-aspired NEW YORK YAKKETY-YAK IN THIS WONDERFUL SCHEME OF IMPROVEMENTS??

Not usually as she keeps a pair of sandals in her drawer at work.
In any case if its a customer she knows well she will go bare foot anyway.

I think that in seaside areas bare feet are accepted more than elsewhere.
I manage a local department stoe in a coastal town and several of my staff work barefoot in the summer and one does for most of the year. I'm quite happy with this although to comply with Health & Safety I have to get them to sign a disclaimer.

It's not just at the seaside!.
When the really hot weather first started I took my shoes of at work and no-one complained.
When I had been barefoot all day at work for a week I decided to leave my shoes at home completely. I have a half mile walk to the station, a 20 minute train journey to the city and about 10 minutes walk to work.
I have now been going barefoot for 2½ months.
One day my boss commented on my bare feet. Oh dear I thought I am going to get a telling off but she only said that she thought it must be much more comfortable than wearing shoes on hot days.
The weather has cooled down quite a bit now but I'm still going to work without shoes and I intend to carry on until it gets really cold!

Julia,

Thats amazing, - I would love to be able to do the same.

Can I ask where you work, - I mean are you in an office or somewhere more informal?

Also, have you gone barefoot everywhere and given up wearing shoe or just for work, and do yoy get any rude remarks about being barefoot on your way to and from work?

Hope to hear from you soon.

I work in the office/warehouse of a distribution company.
This summer I've gone barefoot most places but I wear shoes if I'm dressed up and out in the evenings.
I have had the odd rude remark but far more people have been interested enough to ask why I'm not wearing shoes or made supportive remarks.

Keep those shoes off girl and bare your sexy feet! It's a great look for a female.

Do you ever dance barefoot? I find that incredibly erotic!

Hi Julia,

I posted the earlier message asking where you worked, - thanks for the quick reply.

I finally decided to goive going barefoot a go today, - even though it was wet I drove and walked to work in my barefeet, and loved it even though the pavements were wet. I have ap air of sandals in my bag, but hope I won't need them, - I hate waering shoes, do you feet the same?

Do you go barefoot with skirt or trousers. I was wrearing a skirt as I work in a travel agents, and it is part of my uniform. I always go shoeless in work, but haven't gone barefoot outside until now.

What do you do to avois glass, dogs mess and so on,- do you have a pair of shoes with you just in case you need them?

When the cold weather comes what are you going to do, are you going to wear shoes and take them off in work, or have you considered just going in socks and no shoes.

Hope to hear from you again soon.

Zoe.

Hi Zoe,
I find that I walk looking down quite a bit so that I can spot anything I don'r want to tread on. I suppose that its a small price to pay for being able to go barefoot.
I love the freedom that being barefoot gives me, I love the feel of different textures underfoot. I con't say that I hate shoes 'cos I like going out dressed up and wearing heels. I suppose you could say I'm a bit messed up!
I had a problem a few days ago when I had to cross a newly gravelled road. After looking around and finding there was no easy alternative I gritted my teeth and walked across as quickly as possible. Although I find my soles are getting tougher it was very uncomfortable. I now carry a pair of very light weight flip-flops (just a thin leather soles and bootlace thin straps) in my bag for such eventualities but haven't needed to use them yet.
I'm keeping an open mind about the winter. I'll see how long I can stay barefoot but I suspect I'll eventually have to go back to some form of shoes until the spring. I don't think socks are the answer. I think cold wet socks would be much worse than cold wet bare feet!

Julia
