im fed up with having to wear uncomfortable shoes and i keep getting blisters especially on the inside near my big toe. :( so i would like some help to know what looks best when barefoot. whats the currrent barefoot fashion?

im 21, 5 ft 4 and slim if that helps. i was thinking about short cropped jeans and ankle bracelet. whats your opinion? should i go barefoot at all?

If you go barefoot in the city watch out for glass!

Not just in the city, these days you can encounter broken glass almost anywhere. Over the years I have developed an instinct for keeping an eye on where I am about to tread as I walk and have avoided serious injury to my feet. Of course if you regularly (or permanently) go barefoot your soles toughen so that you can get small fragments of sharp objects - glass, stones, thorns etc - embedded without realising it. I check my feet on a daily basis and remove any foreign objects before they get deep enough to cause a problem.

I highly suspect that a lot of the different people on her are the same person, but whatever.

Im a guy, 22, in the US and i love to go barefoot. I seriously dont see what the problem is with that. I am self conscience about doing it in highly populated areas like at the supermarket or anyplace public. In fact, this past Tuesday evening was the first time i've done it in public ever. It felt great and i'm not sure if anyone even noticed.

I drove far away from where i live for fear of being seen by someone i know. I went to Target to buy some cheap protein bars that they have, then i went to the market to replace some salsa that i stole from my brother and finally i went to the book store.

I only spent a few minutes at each place because i didnt want to get "caught". although i spent more time at the book store because i started to read the book that i ended up buying.

all three locations were in a big shopping compound that had security and i swear i think the security guy was following me :P

Before this, i'd only gone barefoot at home. I used to live in an apartment complex where the mail box was in the center of the property so you had to walk to get your mail. i'd always done that barefoot. it had a computer lab and a small gym and i'd go barefoot there as well, but only at night so as not to be seen.

I guess i just have the general fears of being socially rejected. Especially since there aren't any other people nearby that go barefoot as well, so i have no one to identify with.

Random thoughts :P

By "guest sections" do you mean people who post as a guest instead of being registered?

Yes, I think that is what Alf means. I never go barefoot, preferring instead to wear my Heels.

Watch out! If you get arthritis in your foot, wear something when you have an X-ray, which involves pressing your foot against the X-ray plate, or you may catch a Verrucca from the previous patient!
All healed now, but beware folks.
The Verrucca lurks for those who tread bare.
Best Regards from Colin - Have fun.

Bare feet

Postby Barefoot Susan on Sat Jul 12, 2008 9:15 pm

. wrote:how long have you been barefoot susan?

Most of my life. As a child I always preferred to be barefoot and was often in trouble at school for turning up barefoot. My mother would send me off wearing shoes or sandals as as soon as I was out of sight off they came.
I went through university barefoot. At one time I would put on heels to accompany my husband to formal occasions but I now (with his agreement) no longer bother. I have not had anything on my feet at all for about 4 years. I also have two teenage daughters who often go barefoot as well (by choice no pressure from me).

I am very surprised anyone could get a verruca from an X-ray machine as I would expect it would be thoroughly cleaned between patients.
Verrucas are not a particular hazard for barefooters. The virus thrives only in damp and warm places such as swimming pools and health club changing rooms. You couldn't get it from being barefoot out of doors.

Havent your feet gotten cuts and callouses from walking barefoot all these years?
