[quote="Guest"]Hi Barefoot Susan,

Good to hear from you again?

You are absolutely right,- as you probably remember I have been going barefoot quite a while now, and continued to do so in the recent snow.

As you say, I did get my feet a little cold, but at least ' was'nt slidding all over the place. Also, as you say they soon dry and warm up again as soon as I am indoors anyway.

What happended to your friends when you reached the resturant, - were they able to remove their boots or did they have to be uncomforatable all evening?

When we had the snow so many people were getting their shoes soaked, it was a relief just to be going barefoot!! I noticed in a few places like banks and office either people going shoeless because their footwear was wet or shoes / boots under radiators!!

Also, a frind of mine said her saughter got her shoes soaked waliking to school in the snow, and as she did'nt have another pair had to wear the same wet or damp shoes to school for several days. I noticed girls walking to our local school in the snow and they must have had soaking shoes and been freezing as they were only wearing really flat mules and stuff.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Zoe,

No they sat with uncomfortably wet and cold feet throughout the meal.

Thank heaven the weather has got a bit warmer and I can go barefoot again.
I hate wearing shoes but I can't quite face going bare foot all through the winter.
I'm OK so long as its above about 8 deg C so I've been able to leave my shoes behnind this week.

I would politely ask that you withdraw that remark.
You do not know me, where I live or what job I do.
Believe me there is nothing particularly unusual around here to working barefoot.

I was walking barefoot today and found out, it was colder than I thought it was, because it stated to snow and melt on impact. I walked for over 30 minutes and my feet were never uncomfortably cold, and was surprised how stimulating it felt. It felt so natural that bystanders could care less.

I spend a good part of my work day barefoot, I do interior design work for a condo builder. The new home owners get to come in my office and select paint colors, carpet colors, counter tops , cabinets ect............

I have never had a client complain about my lack of shoes and several clients will remove their shoes as well when they notice my lack of footware.

Hi Nora,

I work for a new home builder in the UK. As the sales office office is based in the show home I usually have my shoes off and have not had any complaints. I am usually in stockings feet rather than barefoot, but I guess it is really the same thing!!

I fine it so much more comfy than having to wear heels all day.

Hope you might relpy.

Not surprisingly both my daughters go barefoot most of the time however, they have always had to wear shoes or sandals for school.
Now they have both moved to a college which has very relaxed dress code and they are able to go barefoot to lectures. The college has asked that they wear footwear if they are on work experience or similar occasions when they are representing the college but otherwise its up to them whether or not they have anything on their feet.

hi susan

At what age did you daughters start walking barefoot, and did they go to and from school bafoot as my two daughters are going barefoot all the time out of school my youngest oldestes started to wear shoes to school but stoped a week in to the tearm and has never warn any shoes to or from school and even at school but takes some with her. my youngest started school barefoot and never wears shoes.
They both say that they have been asked to put shoes on their feet but wont. I will probably have to go in to their school to sort it out.

thankyou

Hi Page,

My daughters have gone barefoot for most of their life mainly because I have almost always been barefoot myself. They have certainly never been pressed into going without shoes and we have thrown away many pairs of hardly worn shoes so there have always been shoes for them to wear if they wished. This has not always been without problems and there have been visits from Social Services and even on one occasion the Police when I have been reported for child neglect for letting them run around barefoot. It just happens that like me they prefer the freedom of being barefoot.
What is your background in respect of footwear? Are you a barefooter too?

Hi Susan

My daughters are like me I have gone barefoot for almost all of my life, i have only worn shoes a few times myself when was a kid. I never wear any know so I dont make my daughters wear but they have shoes available if they want to wear them. Went in to there school yesterday and the teacher said if they dont start to wear shoes they will report it to the social for neglect. Its there choice not to wear shoes they are available so why all the trouble.
