Speaking as a guy, I'd think "why do think that's worth having?" I don't think they are sexy or extremely slutty, just a kind 'downmarket' overkill. To me, they have a gratuitous 'let's hang something there because it's a convenient place to pierce the skin' look, and they keep getting worse now that some are dangling down about 3 inches! You very rarely see a girl that has real class with one, it's mostly 'chav' types. I don't think age is the key factor; they don't look any better on a 20/30/40 year old!

You clearly have doubts, so I'd suggest you remove it and go for a more sophisticated look.

they are scallyish and chavvy. Its not a good look.
its dated along with tracksuits, having hair with blonde on the top section and brown or red or pink or some other tacky colour on the bottom, belly buttons piercings, trainers, streaky, orange fake tan obviously fake hair extensions and nails and giving any lad you can find a S*** hand job. All these things done tastefully and well can be very nice and as your rich you might be able to afford decent things. But i think the average chav is poor, its a stereotype for a reason, because its true, we all know that. Its cool and "attractive" to follow trends. If all the famous girls are wearing hair extensions and belly rings then all the insecure wanna be's will follow. I imagine lots of girls will be cutting their hair off like posh spice now aswell...sad in my opinion to want to look a certain way because someone else looks that way...but it will always happen

they look cheap and dated... My chavvy friends all have theirs done, i love them all but i can't say they look good :/ they used to be like...ooo why don't you get yours done and i was like "ooo so we can all look the same!!!) never in a million years ....vile in my opinion

Couldn't agree more. Nice to see someone wanting to be an individual - I wonder if it ever made your friends think that there's something to be said for being bit different? I wonder, though, if everyone gets the impression that the proportion of people who have had this done is higher than it actually is - because I'm sure that they wear short tops more often as they want to show off whatever they have dangling.

i got my belly button pierced when it was at the height of being THE thing to do (i was 14, im now 21)
I didnt get it cause everyone else did though, i got it because i really liked the look of them and wanted one for my own. Its something ive gotten used to over the years, i dont show it off unecessarily. You see them so often these days that its not particuarly shocking, nor boring to see them. I love mine, and dont know when il take it out (maybe in a few years). Girls tummys can look great with or without a piercing though, i think.

Not read all the posts on here but to be honest, I dont see the point in the belly button piercing. If you like it, fine, but its a bit pointless considering you then need to wear cropped tops for it to be worth the value!

I think it's extremely horrible when a - hmm, how do I put this kindly - person with excess weight around the tummy gets the piercing. You shouldnt draw attention to that part of you unless its in tip-top shape and you can guarantee its going to stay trim for the duration

I’m 16 and my girlfriend (also 16) has one. Personally I think they are quite feminine, I don’t think they are slutty at all. A piercing doesn’t make a person a slut!

I'm 16 and i'm pretty sure i'm going to get one soon, cos i've wanted one consistently for two years. I rkn that they look really nice if you've got a taut stomach.
