Sorry, I know this is not the answer you want but if your mum is against it then you don't have any option than wait until you are old enough not to need her permission.

i had the same problem when i was 13 but with my dad! he hates piercings and i even told him its my body not yurs i should be able to to what ever i want with my body. his answer was still no. so when i was 14 i asked him again and he said when im 18. i didnt want to wait that long soo i thought about getting it behind his back because my mom had no problem with me getting it done but i new i wouldnt be able to hide it from him and he'd see it. so i kept begging and begging for like a month and then he finally gave in and said yes. so if yuu really want it that bad just beg yur mom until the point where she gets soo annoyed that she says yes lol .. it worked for me and my dad absolutely HATES piercings so hopefully it'll work for yuu ! :) i hope i helped

hey im 12, and i just got my bellybutton pierced about a week and a half ago. I'm scared that it's gonna grow out but i dont want to take it out seeing how i already have it done.I was wondering, my bellybutton piercing is still red and always flat against my stomach (i don't have the barbell ) and i was wondering if it was because im wearing tight shirts and how long should it stay red for after you get it done ?

if you could email me it would be great,

I have a scar from my eye brow ring, and it sucks, and I will probably have one as well from my nose ring when I take it out, but bellybuttons are just something I've never boughten into. I think if someone wants to get a piercing they should be at least 17, like I was when I first got mine done, however, piercings are not that big of a deal anymore as we're not in the 50's.......Bellybutton piercings are just not for me, but if someone wants to get it done, go for it, just make sure you're old enough to know what you're doing :)

I had my nose done they done it with a gun it hurt like mad. The hole was too big cos of the earring they used to pierce it with. The earring kept falling out and I had to push it back through it hurt like hell and bleed. But I in the end I let it heal up and I have no scar. I just had my belly button done on 14-03-09 and it didnt hurt that much and have been ok since. I am worried about it grewing out though. But I am 30 and have a bit of skin flat so fingers crossed.

Hey i got my belly button done about 3 weeks ago now , at first it was really red around the ring and now it is a whitish color and is all crusting around the ring sometimes it is hard to turn it and when i turn it the ring it some tomes sticky with like a clear liquid , it gets stuck and also when i press down on it a yellowish white puss comes out , is this normal? . Also can anybody tell me when would be the nest time to change the ring to a barbell, like what signs i should see when i should know to change it ? thank you to anyone who can help me.

Hey,

Ok, this is a reply to a bunch of posts (so sorry for it's length).

No, it is not normal for a white/yellow puss to come out of your piercing site. It is infected. You should clean it and be careful (wash your hands before touching it etc). I'm sure you have cleaning solution from a shop, but if not avoid alcohol and peroxide; they just dry out and hurt your skin. If you don't have a solution try plain old water, and once in a while a salt soak. Also, I don't know what your shop offers as far as infection treatment goes, but the shop near me will replace the barbell (if you got that one) with a hoop and drain it for you. If the shop will do this for you your in luck, just don't try it yourself.

As far as tight clothing goes, most piercings recommend against it for a while . Tight clothing rubs against your piercings irritating it and making it so it won't heal as fast. So go for shirts that don't press your jewelry down or rub against it. Other wise it will take longer than the usual 4-6 months to be changeable, and a year to be ok without any jewelry. If your scared it's growing out (migrating, rejecting) you should see a piercer. Some signs of rejecting are the piercing hanging lower, or being able to see the bar through your skin. I don't recommend taking it out until you see a professional and get their advise though.

Piercings don't usually come in mm as far as I know (I'm not from UK though, so maybe it's different). Here, jewelery comes in gauges, 18-0. 18 is the smallest gauge, for say a nose piercing, and 0 is the largest. Most body piercings come in a 14 gauge. Industrial, navel, nipple, daith, etc all come in a general 14 gauge size.

As far as where I'm from you can get piercings as long as a parent or guardian signs a release form for you, or if your of legal age (adult) where you live.

And piercings of all sorts stay red for any amount of time, industrials, tragis, daith, navel, sternum, lip etc can be red for only a few hours to weeks. So don't be too scared if its still red, or if it scabs a little (it is time to get worried if puss leaks out).

I don't know what to say to your parents saying no, I wouldn't recommend going behind their backs though. I'd also really avoid doing it yourself because your body may reject it and migrate.

hope this helped.
(12 piercings and counting).
