I was on femulen for 5/6 years and had no side affects at all, or none that i noticed anyways.

I wish the manufactors and doctos who distribute the pills would let us know it could take a year to get a cycle back or into a regular cycle!!

I posted my concerns on here in April. I had been off the pill for 3months after taking it for 9years and still no period. I am pleased to say the month I got one and have been regular as clock work. I guess our bodies just need to do some adjusting after pumping them with hormones for so long. I did do pregnancy tests and would say to anyone that is concerned to take one. Otherwise wait a few months and let your body do what it needs to do!!!

:D

Hi ladies, been reading all the info and wanted to ask one question that I couldn't find the answer too. I have been on the pill for only 3 and a halfyears and my husband and i would like to start trying for a baby next year, how long is the wait usually before you fall pregnant? ta x

Hi,

that's a hard question to answer and everyones body is different, some people return to a normal cycle very quickly where as others don't.

I wish i had looked on the web first, i was naive in thinkning my cycle would just return, if it were me and could do it again, i would come off the pill 6-8 months before i wanted to try and get pregnant and use alternative protection methods in the mean time.

Hi
I just wanted to say I'm really glad I found this site, I was on Microgynon and then Levlen for 11 years all up and came 2 months ago after losing all, and I mean ALL, my sex drive and being really "blah" all the time. Doctor told me to try to up my Vitamin B levels to help clear my body of the pill. My cycle is back to normal, no problems there and sex drive increased pretty much straight away BUT I had pretty bad cramps for about a week after my period and I have a major acne breakout on my face, forehead mainly. I know it's because of coming off the pill and I'm just being patient and using acne soap etc. Wish the docs had told me what happens when you come off the pill, before they put me on it!! Roll on the invention of the male contraceptive pill!

I know exactly what you mean Linz0805, since coming off my pill 10 months ago, my face has broke out in spots- mostly on my forehead but i never used to get spots, also been feeling really low and just not my usual self. Still havent had my period 10 months after coming off the pill. Got another docs appointment end of Aug so hopefully will get to the botom of this.

cerazette

Postby houghy76 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 4:21 pm

urrrm not sure if anyone can help or just an insight would be fab!

I was on the depo injection for around 3-4 years. I was told i needed a 2nd loop excision and that if i wanted a baby, i should probably get on with it asap due to the problems that can arise from repeated loops (my cervix didnt regenerate after the 1st)
I didnt trust my doctor and asked him to refer me to the oncologists at gateshead, who did biopsies and it turned out that i didnt even have stage 1 cells - never mind the stage 2 cells that my 1st doc said i did :!:

anyway, i came off the depo injection and went straight onto cerezette at the beginning of the year (2008). My husband and I are wanting to have another baby, and having read some of the lady's stories on this site, i'm wondering if we should try straight away and see what happens or wait till my body is back to itself first. does anyone know how long it takes to get the hormones out of our systems coz i've read that the doctors say its out straight away but also that people have fallen pregnant shortly after stopping cerazette, then have the horror of a miscarraige.

if anyone can shed a ray of light for me, i would be most gratefull

thanks
Andrea

Hey Kitten,

Have you taken a test? If not, then you should. It could just be because you have started femulen and then stopped and its just your bodys way of getting back to normal. I am vowing never to go back on the pill as nobody tells you about all the symptoms that come with it.
I hope this helps. Let me know x

hi.
You havent said if you are having unprotected sex or not? Obviously if you are then there is a chance you might be pregnant! If you have then you need to do a preg test hun. If you are'nt then id advise to go to gp to discuss why your period has not came.
i hope you are ok hun xxx

pill

Postby nikdj » Sat Aug 30, 2008 10:46 am

i'm the same. i just decided to give my body a rest. after beingon the pill for nearly 10 yrs my boyfriend is working away for at least 6 months so we thought it would be a good time to give my body arest. however like you said i'd prob be looking to go back on it once he is home. mainly because we're not ready for kids yet and i believe the pill is one of the best methods. didn't speak to my GP, mainly because when i last mentioned it she said 'why come off if your not planning a family' my response was'because i've been on it 10 years?' she didn't seem supportive and didn't explain her view. but that just want it was.. her view. i've read quite a bit _ and you should let your body rest. what do you guys think?
