Doctors

Postby Guesty » Sun Aug 31, 2008 2:57 pm

Hi

I'm thinking the same thing, I'm reluctant to go to the doctors first because I know they will ask why I want to come off. Well, actually the reason is my husband wants me to get my sex drive back  and i don't really wanna tell that to the doc... :!:

I've been on Mycrogynon 30 for about 9 years, and after reading all the posts here i agree that it would be good to give my body a rest from it. I'm pretty nervous about stopping, and tempted to wait a while longer as I have a couple of holidays planned that I don't want to ruin... :?

I'll chat to my husband and see what he thinks. It's been great to read this forum, at least I know what to expect if I do come off it soon.

Hi,

I thought this might be a good place to ask for advice.

My girlfriend came off the pill about 9 months ago after taking it for a couple of years.
Many pregnancy tests have rendered negatives.

Blood tests all come back normal, and a recent scan shows no obvious problems.

She's suffering from depression and gets very upset. I was wondering if anyone else here had suffered depression and had any news of their periods successfully coming back and/or how they dealt with the depression?
I'm really worried for her, and feel like I can't really help! :(

Thanks a lot,
Chris[/code]

Hi Chris,

The only thing is time, all bodies react differently and some will return to a normal cycle very quickly and others after some months.

Sadly worrying about it will only make it worse and in my eyes it takes longer to return, but i do understand it is hard not to worry.

I think just be patient and if after a year the doctors can prescribe medicine which will help.

wow i thought i was alone i never knew any of this would be on the internet, or people would have the same problem as i did. my story is a bit different but pretty the same as some of the ones on here. When i was younger i got a period right in like elementary school grade 6 or 7 or so. and it was normal for a long long time until i was 14 ish .. yeah i know young i lost it and then got on the pill thinking it would be safer which it was so i dated this guy for four years and was on alease for ever until i got off it and was one and off for a whille then i got off and i thought i was pregrent becuase i didnt have a period for a few months a few months then turned into 10 so i knew i waas not preg so i went to the doctor and she just said go back on the pill so i did and i a month after it was back. so its been a year or somehting back on it but ijust stopped takin it because its so high estrgen that it gives me headaches and migrans and i dont want to make my body think its will only get a period when i take it.. so ive been off for like 3months now and still no sign of it returning im 18 almost 19 now and im starting to get worried? i wonder if its in my head making my body feel that way or if i can find a better soloution because one day i would want to be preg in like a few years. any advise or comments?

I went off the pill in august and was supposed to get my period at the beginning of Sept. Since I am 44 years old and had a baby at 41 I think my hormones are just screwed up and maybe starting pre menopause, what do you think ??

Me and my boyfriend were talking last night and decided we should try! I was 4 days into my pack of Mocroginon 30 and I stopped this morning!! Hopwfully it will happen soon, I don't want to be the unlucky one who has to wait a year! Also I'm looking forward to getting my sex drive back!!

As I am 4 days into my pill packet that means my body is currently ovulating? I am useless at all this I need help! As I finished my period 5 days ago and now I have stopped my pill after 4 days of taking my pack do I have a high chance of concieving straight away?

Coming Off the Pill

Postby Niki B » Mon Sep 22, 2008 6:28 pm

I have been off the pill since July. Body wise I feel good, but emotionally I feel slightly sad, impatient and bored all at once. I have no real reason to feel that way and I cannot explain why. I do not know if it is a combination of both being off the pill and the fall starting.

I came off the pill to give my body a break and now we are trying to make a baby. I am hoping that I do not have to wait a year either to get pregnant, but my plan of delivering a baby in the spring and having 3 months off in the Summer has been tossed out the window. I have gotten over that, so here I am just waiting for it to happen.

Coming off the pill

Postby pinkstars3243 » Mon Sep 22, 2008 6:55 pm

I've been on micro for 3/4 months now and I've been really moody, put on weight, tired all the time and sore heads so I'm going to go off it/change pills. I was just wondering if anyone has done the same and could recommend a better pill with less side effects? Thanks

its so frustrating!!

Postby aida » Tue Sep 23, 2008 3:32 pm

Hi all, I was on the pill for 4 years and I came off it last march since we decided to try for a baby. Although for the first six cycles I have been getting my period every 28- 29 days, i have been also spotting from about day 16 all the way to the day my periods started. Last period just arrived with about 4 days delay (and after having taken 4 pregnancy tests, all negative obviously), much heavier and with much more pain...i know i am ovulating since last month i had an ultrasound, but its just so frustrating not knowing what to expect next...anybody had any similar experiences to share would be highly appreciated!!

Pills

Postby NikiB » Wed Sep 24, 2008 6:26 pm

I have been on several different kinds through out the years, Trinorinyl, Estro Step and Yasmin. The Yasmin was the last one that I had take. I have been off the pill since July and I never want to get back on the pill. I will be seeking alternatives after I have a baby. Whenever that happens, hopefully soon.

hi i stopped taking the pill end of August 08 i had my period the 1st week of september as normal, i didnt start taking the pill again as i want to get the coil fitted and u need to have a period to have it fitted and i wanted to get the hormounes out of my body before having it fitted, My period was due on monday and it is now friday and still not here but i have the stomac cramps , wind, feel tired and very emotional witch is how i am when my period os due or here, im also like this and the early stages of pregnancy ( i have 2 daughters already Annabelle years 11 months, and hannah almost 14 months ) so i did a pg test on monday afternoon as i kinda got it into my head the week b4 that im pregnant, test was negative! now i do want another baby but not yet as i have 2 that are quite young already and im only 23 so have plenty of time, me and my partner have had unproteced sex but he hasent 'come' for ages but he has had to pull out very quickly sometimes and do it in his hand (sorry tmi), what do u recon my changes are of being pregnant i will test again in a week or so if no period of go to my docs .

Hi All,

Just thought i'd post my experience: I'm 22 and have been on some kind of hormone for about the last 10 years to help my heavy, long and irractic periods. Ive been on Marvelon, Depo (injection), Binovum and finally for the last few years Loestrin 30. I came off the pill end of Aug 08, had a normal (7 day break) bleed and nothing to date. I also took a pregnancy test as no bleeding at all is very unusual for me but it was negative. I dont know about you girls but even though me and my partner have not been 'trying' for a baby - the negative pregnancy test left me feeling empty and upset that i wasn't. It was almost like my body had gone into fantasy pregnancy mode - has anyone else experienced this?
