hi i stopped taking the pill end of August 08 i had my period the 1st week of september as normal, i didnt start taking the pill again as i want to get the coil fitted and u need to have a period to have it fitted and i wanted to get the hormounes out of my body before having it fitted, My period was due on monday and it is now friday and still not here but i have the stomac cramps , wind, feel tired and very emotional witch is how i am when my period os due or here, im also like this and the early stages of pregnancy ( i have 2 daughters already Annabelle years 11 months, and hannah almost 14 months ) so i did a pg test on monday afternoon as i kinda got it into my head the week b4 that im pregnant, test was negative! now i do want another baby but not yet as i have 2 that are quite young already and im only 23 so have plenty of time, me and my partner have had unproteced sex but he hasent 'come' for ages but he has had to pull out very quickly sometimes and do it in his hand (sorry tmi), what do u recon my changes are of being pregnant i will test again in a week or so if no period of go to my docs .

Just thought i'd post my experience: I'm 22 and have been on some kind of hormone for about the last 10 years to help my heavy, long and irractic periods. Ive been on Marvelon, Depo (injection), Binovum and finally for the last few years Loestrin 30. I came off the pill end of Aug 08, had a normal (7 day break) bleed and nothing to date. I also took a pregnancy test as no bleeding at all is very unusual for me but it was negative. I dont know about you girls but even though me and my partner have not been 'trying' for a baby - the negative pregnancy test left me feeling empty and upset that i wasn't. It was almost like my body had gone into fantasy pregnancy mode - has anyone else experienced this?

hi ladies. good news, 4 weeks off the pill after 10 years on and i've had my first period. i think everyones body is different and we shouldn't worry about when our period will start again. i think worrying makes it worse

I have just come off the pill after my last period (last week) but a week later i am bleeding again!! i have been on the pill for 5 years and wanted a break from it.
I have no idea what is going on can anyone help??

I came of the pill, two months ago. I started using a projestion cream to try and reguilate my hormones. My first period was fine. Came right on 28 days. It has now come up to being my second period, and Im late!!!! I was very sick last week, on antibiotics, and am wondering could this be the reason why they are late. I am having the usual symptoms of a a lead up period, 'Irritability, bloating, cravings, feeling generally ill, and sore boobs. I am really really worried. I have been using comdoms, and have also been testing my ovulation date so I don't fall pregnant. If any body has any advice...is this normal . I have had very light spotting...? Is this just the pill, and my hormones...?

I came of the pill about two month ago, my first period came normally and i have been having protected sex as im too young for a child, no spilt or anything i have done 3 tests and all negative but still no period could this just be an effec of the pill? i wa son it for about 2 yrs and messed it up alot so i was quite ill whilst on it and do not have regular periods anyway
could i be preg?

I came off the pill in October and had a short and light bleed not long after but nothing since. My skin has become awful and I've never had spots in my life. I've put on weight, I cry over stupid things. My self esteem has become so low and I used to be such an outgoing, confident person.
I thought it might be something serious, but after reading all these posts, I can see it is just my body's way of adjusting to me coming off the pill.
I just hope I come on soon because I'm finding it hard carrying on like this.

I was on microgynon for 2 yrs then changed to cilest which I have been off dor the past 3 yrs.

I have come off my pill 2 months ago - only effect I noticed is that it has messed up my periods, I just didn't have one until this week! but it is surprisingly quite a light, painless one I was expecting an evil period after missing one!! Other than I have been fine, if anything I have lost weight!

I thought I would share with everyone my experience as I find reading the stories comforting.
I've been on Cilest for 5 and a half years. DH and I would like a baby so I took my list pill on 19th December. Had normal withdrawal bleed that lasted slightly longer than expected (6 days - usually they were 4 days long).
As soon as I stopped taking the pill my skin has cleared up! I have always suffered from spots around my chin/jawline but I did not get a spot which is a rarity! I didn't notice any other side effects for the first 2 weeks of stopping the pill.
On what should be CD13 I started getting a lot of cramps and ovary pain and a lot of white CM. Assumed I was o'ing so bd'd a lot! Bbs sore, felt very heavy, bloated, hot flushes, urinated a lot but BFN. From CD24 all these symptoms stopped and I felt normal again!
I'm now on CD32! No AF but now had a brown discharge for the last 3 days (sorry, TMI). I keep thinking AF is coming but still no sign.
Before Cilest I had normal very regular periods with an average CD24. I've been on Dianette for a shorter period of time but when I came off that I went straight back into normal periods.
So I'm going slightly crazy - playing hide & seek with my own body!

I am also going through what you ladies seem to be experiencing. I came off Marvelon in December having been on many different types of pill off and on since I was about 16 and I am now 33. I had a period at the start of January, 28 days after coming off pill. Now I am 9 days late and am wondering what is happening. I know that my body is probably a bit up and down since coming off the pill but I also feel awful. I feel headachey and nauseous and my skin is dreadful. I have big lumpy spots on my neck and jawline and I feel so exhausted.

I have just accepted a new job and start in a couple of weeks so I really do not want to be pregnant right now - such bad timing. But I have been using condoms with my husband and we have been pretty careful. I went to the nurse this morning for another reason and asked her if it was normal to have strange periods after coming off the pill. She said yes, they can be all over the place for a bit, but then she said "or you might just be pregnant"!

So I am going to wait for a few more days and then buy a test if no sign of anything. I am also worried as was quite drunk a week ago and if I am pregnant then surely that could harm the baby. Oh dear - I hate waiting. My skin is so bad.

Good to know other people are having similarly confusing experiences. I stopped taking the pill in early Nov last year, been on several different pills - mostly with short breaks in between since I was 16 and am now 22 (21 when I stopped). I had the copper IUD fitted in mid Dec and everything seemed to be going well- I had the 3 day withdrawal bleed the Doctor informed me I'd experience 5 days after stopping the pill (I didn't wait until the end of the month to stop the pill) and after that I had a normal period that started 28 days after the withdrawal bleed began. Then the following month (I had the IUD in at this point) I had another period 28 days after the last one began. This month...nothing, I'm late, which is weird becuase I have beeen having PMS symptoms. I have noticed I've been getting little spots on my back and chest over the last two months and now I also have spots on my chin- this has been over the last few days and I was certain it meant my period was on it's way. There was a time before where I came off the pill for a long duration (although this time I'm determined to stop permenatly), when I was 20 I stopped taking the pill for 6 months - was single at them time and just wanted to see what would happen. During those 6 months I only had one period at 4 months and I remember getting little spots on my back and chest in the 5 and 6 month. All these experiences are very frustrating - don't feel like a proper woman but I was having regular periods before I started the pill when I was a teenager.
