my black hair

Postby Keren on Wed Mar 23, 2005 5:07 am

i have had my hair black for about a year and a half, and now i'm planning on taking the black off and making it brown, since its from black to brown, the bleach shouldnt damage it too much right? i hope not since i dont think they will have to leave it in too long. and after i make it brown i'm putting "slightly lighter brown" super-thin highlights all over. the two colors wont look very different from each other so it will look natural.

please reply and tell me what you think, if it will turn out very damaged or not!

I dyed my hair black just over a year ago. And i still love it, i know eventually i might want to change it but make sure you make the right decision. Not many people have it and it looks great if it really suites you.

is it really that bad ????

Postby Yerathiel on Sat Mar 26, 2005 11:05 pm

Just wondered why you think its sooo bad to have black hair. I would lvoe to dye my hair black but my hair is too sensitive to the chemicals used in black hair dye. im fine to use any other colour or bleach but just not lbakc. and thats the colour i really want. Please dont think im argueing with you ubt u'll probably get used to it , have your family and friends said anything positive about it ???? they might think it looks ok :D

Just thought id ask ^-^xx Yerathiel

:D There is a way of getting black dye out of your hair as i have done it before all you need to do is go to the hairdressers and get it stripped out and then dyed over with your natural colour, easy enough. don't sweat. it's all good.

you can put bleach on it to get rid of the black but it will dry your hair out so id reccomend you do a couple of intensive conditioning treatments on it, when you have got your desired colour do a conditioning treatment twice a week. After shampooing hair comb lots of conditioner through it then wrap your hair in cling film and put a towel on top, the heat will help condition the hair better

My friends recently dyed my hair purple (quite bright) - i dont want it this bright anymore and want it more subtle. I have an apointment at the hairdressers the end of the week...do you think they will be able to correct it?

you cannot bleach hair to get rid of the black, it will turn a nasty orange colour, before getting to blonde from dark hair goes thru many different colour stages, so it will take many many times before it will get to blonde
Bad Hair Days can be a thing of the past only if you let a professional do it!!
Im a training hairdresser, so any hair probs pm me!!!!

i have my hair black. i dyed it twice because the blk didnt catch well the first time. And in december i decided to get red highlights. And in order for that they had to de-color my hair which is my bleaching it turns it bright yellow and then they dyed red over it. Now the only problem was that during the de-coloration my hair started breaking literally. I would touch my hair n it would break. So if you've dyed your hair plenty of times and your hair isn't very healthy i dont recommend bleaching it. Now what i have noticed is that lately my hair is looking lighter, the dye is wearing off. So if you want just give it time. Unless like i said ur hair is healthy then go for the bleaching but dont let them leave it on for too long.

you can bleach out the black, I had it done about 3 weeks ago, but it does go slightly orange, however my hairdresser used a toner on my hair afterwards and my new highlights look yummy now!

HELLO I AM A LISCENSED COSMETOLOGIST/BARBER. DO NOT BLEACH YOUR HAIR DO NOT PUT ANY CHEMICAL IN IT!! GO TO A BARBER/HAIR STYLIST ASK FOR THE COLOR CORRECTOR. IT IS A BLUE SUBSTANCE THAT LOOKS LIKE HAIR DIE. IT IS APPLIED TO YOUR HAIR AND FOR A FEW MINUTED THEN IT IS WASHED OUT. THE HAIR DYE YOU HAVE WILL WASH OUT WITH IT. YOUR NATURAL HAIR COLOR IS ALL YOU WILL SEE.
