i did black on my hair twice b4 first time i looked like a skunk.. this was during school, straingly i neva got teased 4 it lol... i let it grow out naturally i love black and blonde hair but i can neva make it work 4 me,

but whilst it was still black i died it all brown a few months later and the black went brown ish, maybe that cud work....

years later i did black streaks with red, again i ruiened my hair, so i used bleach to put on sum of the black maybe you guys cud try that it went a lil orange but not too bad, the i used a temp brown, a few weeks and washes later it all faded and was a light brown dark blonde colour, if u wana try it test it on part of your hair to make sure it isnt going to snap off or go a colour u dnt like one chunk of hair is better than ur whole head!! sorry 4 the longness, hope i help!

black hair

Postby missmiller19 on Tue Aug 14, 2007 5:32 pm

this is for people that have died there hair black!! if you have died your hair black DO NOT bleach it. your hair will fry and fall out. I go to the salon once every three months to color my hair. wether its blond, brown or a combination of both. recently i went black an hated it. sometimes its alright an sometimes i cant stand it. if you want to get the black out wash it like mad! buy some cheap shampoo and wash it like 2x a day for a week to two weeks straight. after every shampoo use a really good moisturizing conditionaer. this will help fade your hair into a nice shade of brown (depending on how much u wash it) an something more liveable with. once you have that liveable shade wait a month till your hair is healthy then try a diff color. Never put bleach on your hair when its black. its not a good idea to put bleach on any hair no matter what color let alone when its freshly died and that dark. now if you cant wait the two weeks for the black to come out go to a salon..ya its gunna cost you an arm an a leg but its worth it to get a nice color that you will love and to keep your hair.

I have recently died my hair 'bright black' it a really horrible colour and makes me look washes out and ill because I am so pale! I hate it so much it s makin me depressed! I have rang up a hair salon and am going for a consultation tomorrow to see what they can do about it - i just want me old natural colour back (dark brown) or a natural brown anything put this horrible dull black colour! :(

I will let you know how it goes, I am hoping they will be able to do it all tommorrow so I cna get my life back!

Tip: NEVER dye your hair black unless you are 100% it will suit you seriously it can turn out really bad even if oyur hair was dark before its just not worth it Be happy with your natural colour! UN-NATURAL DYED BLACK HAIR SUCKS!

bleaching, i cant stress enough to you how bad it is
from my own experience
im only 16, and ive dyed my hair about 7 times

i have natural dark brown/mousy brown hair

me and a friend decided to do something to my hair, when it was back to its natural color, and bleached a bit under my side fringe . do not underestimate bleach. when we washed it out [we left it on for about 6 minutes] some of the hair fell out, and when i looked in the mirror it was WHITE at the roots, a big brown streak in the middle of it, and a muddy browny orangey color. it was disgusting. i covered a quarter of my head, about that, and i have relatively thick hair

i went to a hairdressers, who said if i would have straightened/towel dried aggressively, i could have lost all the hair

anyway, im dying it black in a week, and im using a permanent home dye kit, ive used these loads of times before, i dont use color care shampoo, i wash my hair in hot water and i generally do stuff that i shouldnt for colored hair, i dyed it black before, but with semi color, it came out within 2 weeks, what im saying is; perhaps you should get a home dye kit, and not even permanent, and see if you like it like that, before dying it all proper proper permanent

to get rid of black color, just wear it out, even straighten the hell out of it, a minute of bleach is probably as much damage as a years worth of straightening

DO NOT BLEACH YOUR HAIR

same write ^^^^^^

with the bleach thing, i left it for 3 months, 3 whole months of going to school and going out , then, after about 2 inches of hair, i colored it back using home permanent dye kit - it covered completely

i have dyed my hair a few times, it has never lost its shine, it has never looked dry or dead, but if you feel under my fringe, its all dry and like straw. my hair is pretty long, i have to wait about 4 years to completely get rid of the bleached bit,

bleach is serious S***, dont do it

HELPP

Postby fisher on Mon Sep 03, 2007 9:50 am

oh my GOD ok, well i wanted to have like really dark brown hair. so i bought hair dye where the woman on the box had the EXACT hair colour i wanted. Call me stupid. So then i put it on, and did it all, and my hair came out INK BLACK. with a BLUE tinge. i look absolutely horrific. So then i read on here the thing about baking soda lightening it, and mixed in Brilliant Blonde shampoo (to lighten it) with baking soda and i added some lemon juice because i thought maybe that would lighten it more... and i dried it and now my hair has this HORRIBLE BLUE UNDERTONE, more pronounced than it was before. it looks like dark brown underneath the hair strand, but on the surface there's like this strange bluey colour that looks kind of like someones powdered my hair blue. I look SO awful and CANNOT go out in public or to school like this. Does anyone know any other ways of fading the colour out without dyeing it because my mum's refusing to buy anything because shes all 'i told you this would happen'. I just want to lighten it to dark brown and get rid of the blue...?

I dyed my hair permanant black in march so that i could get hair extensions and it gradually got lighter.
about may time i bleached underneath my fringe which made an orange colour.
I've since done the fringe a couple more times, and a toner and a normal blonde dye with no bleach and I now have a natural blonde colour.
And I decided to do all the underneath of my hair too, and I've only done that twice since june and it's already darkish blonde and slightly orange, and I'll have to bleach and dye it again to get the front and underneath to match.
So not all bleaching black hair is bad.
Mine turned out alright.

HELP! MY HAIR IS A AWFUL COLOUR!

Postby MorriganTwoTwoTwoo on Sat Sep 08, 2007 2:58 pm

Hey,

Well I've got a little problem. I dyed my hair blue/black a few months ago, but I completely hated it! So I then dyed it blonde, but it turned out a gross orange. I've dyed my hair two blonds since then, but nothing has worked.

I'm thinking of dying my hair black again, but then again, I don't think I'll like it and all of that drama will flick back right at me.

I really don't want to have to wait for my hair to grow out, because I've got important things coming up soon, and I haven't got the time to waist my life having hair the colour of crayon orange.

Okay, I don't want to have to bleach it either, it's probably going to wreck my hair. To be honest, I dye my hair way too much! And everytime I see a hair dye, I ask my Mum if I can get it but she's scared that my hair will fall out, AND SO AM I!

So, I don't want to be embarrassed by being bald either. I really want your advice guys before I made another dreadful mistake.

Thank you.
x

Okay huns. I know exactly how you feel. I wouldn't ask you to dye your hair blonde, because your hair will turn out a AWFUL ORNAGE! Okay, don't panic. I used to have black hair, mm yeah you could say I used to be in the same situation as you. Try and dye it a brownish colour if your Mum says yes...OR, Try and lighten the colour by using dishwashing liquid but then use conditioner afterwoods because your hair will be sticky after using dishwashing liquid. Try and wash it as many times as possible, but I'd say ask a hairdresser. But, if your like me you wouldn't like to go to there because your scared they'll chop ALL YOUR HAIR OFF! Lol, sorry. But blue looks cool. Cut your hair, if you want. Maybe layer it yourself, thats what I did, it looked awesome! But I looked emo. Ok ok, so remember those couple of things I've told you. Take care huns.

I'm sure you don't wanna hear my whole life story of how I've managed to screw up my hair, but I am in need of some major help. So does anyone know of a good dye that is likely to go over a permanent dark brown, which went too dark and now looks blackish?! I used Schwartzkopf Poly Colour Tint which was quite cheap - would anything more expensive and well known such as loreal or something go over the top?
I'm just trying to look for alternatives to bleaching or using a remover, any comments would be of great help. Someone put about using baking soda to maybe remove the dye, would it be possible to use either that or another dye?

wahs your hair with head and sholders it will fade the colour for you as it sort of strips the dye so it will become lighter the more you wash it

black hair dye

i got told of the hair dresser i go to, that they only way to get the black hair dye out is to grow it out, but, dye your roots with semi permanent dark brown hair dye, and every 4 weeks do this, and no one will know that you have roots, and when the black completly grows out you an dye it to what ever colour you want 8) .

I also tried to dye my hair dark brown and ended up with pure jet black!

After reading alot of stuff on this forum and others I tried the head n shoulders and baking soda, letting that sit for about 30-40 minutes twice, ive also washed myhair with head and shoulders and dish soap mixture 6 times today and used this "degunking" shampoo 5 times today. I've also done a hot oil treatment twice and conditioned twice to keep my hair from completely drying out.

i did the bad dye job last nite and did all this washing and trying to fix it today, and already I'm seeing results it still looks blackish from a distance but when i look at it more closely i can tell its really darkbrown with a sorta red tone to it, its starting to look nice and hopefully with some more o these treatments Ill be down to what I originally wanted.

I think I'll probably try dying it a golden brown in a few weeks to a month, depending on how it fades and wether it looks washed out or nice.

Good luck to anyone else with this terrible mistake!! lol
