hey guys, i am also pro stylist for ten years w/ my own salon in texas. let me go into a little detail for you guys, when you color your hair with a permanent color there are two main ingredients, amonia which dissolves your natural pigment, and peroxide which expands the artificial pigments in the hair. therefore if you have used a permanent hair color nothing is going to pull the black out and restore the old color. what you have to do is pull out as much of the black as you can then dye it brown. ANY color remover is going to leave you orange, because when the black molecules are dissolved all that is left is stripped out hair. WHEN PEOPLE SAY IT IS GOING TO BE ORANGE THAT IS NORMAL BECAUSE IT IS NOT a one step process. I GUESE YOU GUYS ARE OVERSEAS AND DO NOT HAVE A SALLYS BEAUTY SUPPLY ON EVERY CORNER, but if you have acces to the stuff i'll tell you what to use, but do not try to get it to say, a blonde color at home. there is a product called effasol, it is a blue creme, this product is drying but will not dissolve your hair the way that bleach will, keep in mind the girl with the conditioning tips is totally right you can undo alot if you condition the hell out of your hair. the effasol will leave you orange and you follow the directions on package, then you put a brown on after you've rinsed it off. keep in mind that every color company has similar products, for example UNCOLOR has a product just like effasol and i'm sore the one someone recomended from matrix is the same thing. if you dont want to attempt this yourself, maybe you can ask about the use of these products. now a beter product to use which actually goes into the hair and shrinks the old molecules from the artificial pigments then you scrub the hair vigorously three timesto get the molecules out, then you recolor the hair. the problem with this method is that sometimes you don't get all the molecules and when you put new color on the hair the old moleculse re expand in the hair, so sometimes you have to do it over and over, but it is much less damaging to the hair, the names of this type of product are, jeri redding color remover in a yellow box at a beauty supply, or the proffesional ver that i know of is called swartzcof MODULAT. HOPE ANY OF THIS INFO HELPS, IT REALLY IS BEST TO GO GET IT DONE IN A SHOP BUT ASK WHAT PROCEEDURE THEY ARE GONNA USE, I ONCE MELTED ALL THE ENDS OF MY HAIR TOGETHER AFTER 9 HOURS OF BLEACHING TO REMOVE COLOR BACK WHEN I WAS IN BEAUTY SCHOOL, THAT IS NOT THE BEST ROUTE.
