dying over black hair dye - pls help meeeeeeeeeee

Postby mani5ha on Mon Feb 21, 2005 11:47 am

Hiya, this weekend I went to get highlights put in my black hair, chose these 2 really nice colours and the hairdresser told me tht there wud be no problems gettin them. However it then emerged that I also had black dye in my hair so she wud also have to do a colour correction procedure, anyway she did this and put black dye in other bits of my hair where my previous colour was, the highlights are non existent and my hair is now PITCH BLACK, I went in for highlights and came out with black hair, on top of all tht she charged £65 and I feel so conned, I am so so so unhappy with my hair and I dnt know wht to do, its too black, she said she'll be able to fix it but i know how hard it is to strip black hair dye. im scared tht bleaching it again is gona damage it too much, and I dnt think I can wait til it grows out as its already really getting me down. I'm going bk to the salon on wed. Help meeeeeeeeeeeee

The only way to get ride of your black dye is by bleaching your hair. I use to dye my hair blue black and wanted to chaing to red. In order for me to chainge I had to bleach my hair. Bleaching can be brutal to your hair but its the only way to get ride of your black hair. Mant beuty salons do it.

Yes it will. Bleach is a really strong chemical that will really dry your hair out but this is the only way to get black out. Bleach is not a hair dye its more of a color strip. If your going to do it yourself buy bleach powder and mix it with infusium 20 or 30. This will become a creamy white mix, cover your hair compleatly with it. I forgot how long your suposed to leave it on but this is the process. Once you have the bleach in your hair this is really going to itch like crazy but be strong. As time goes by you will see your hair turning in to a yellow, white blond color and if you leave it on for a longer time it will turn into a strong red color. Basically just wash your hair once you see the black is starting to go away. Like I said befor, after this process your hair will not have the same texture untill it grows out. I did all this and I learned it from my mom whom diys her hair blond and used to dye it bleach blond. After I did this I had to cut my hair a little shorter and do a lot of oil treatments. Go to beuty supply stores like Sally's and such to find what your looking for for good prices. If you go to a beuty salon they will most likely charge a lot more. If you dont want to do this whole bleach procedure on your own I really honestly sugest you go to a Latin beuty salon. They do this sort of stuff all the time. I really hope this helps you :)

If your a person who dyes your hair a lot I dont think you should do it just because you might want to chainge and will have to go through everything thats been mentiond above. I think black hair is beutifull and when its nice and sleek it can look sexy but like I said if your a person who likes to dye your hair a lot it can become boring to you and will be a hassle to take off.

I HATE my black hair, I want it out so bad, and I already tried bleaching it and it won't go! I have to wait until it grows out and the roots are coming in soooo bad!

well if you recently dyed your hair black dont expect to get it out with bleach that soon. you have to wait at least a month or two while the dye has softend out. I was watching the show what not to wear and a girl had blue black hair, she was goth. Well they got her black hair off with bleach and the beutician said it was really dry but they ended up dyeing her hair blond with brown tips.

I died my hair black in February and I liked it for awhile, but then i got sick of it. The only way that I could get it out was to go to the salon and get it stripped. Now it's a nice browny red colour and I love it!
