Egypt is beautiful - I was there last year - stayed in Sharm el Sheikh for diving and water sports and visited the Valley of the Kings, Cairo and Luxor. The Egyptian people are very friendly and we made some great friends - i would go back again and again. The food is good too and very inexpensive. The airport at Sharm was still under construction but it should be finished by now. Its VERY hot and Factor 30 is a must, but the Red Sea is beautiful and the Ros Mohammed National park has some of the most beautiful coral I've ever seen and the fish - they are so colourful its like being in a cartoon !! Go see

i totally agree with you. i just got back from sharm el sheikh. it beats the pants off of spain and greece. and is similar priced but you get so much more for your holiday here.

beautiful beaches, good food, nice holidays, nice scenery (mountains) and lovely people, historic sites, lots of excursions.

and all relatively new to the holiday market so not overun with brits and europeans.

I've been to Egypt twice. Marvelous country! The people sooo freindly and kind. I liked especially Luxor and Axum. Train is convenient and inexpensive to/from Cairo.
Accomodation was very clean and inexpensive (depending on exchange rate) - and friendly safe ( about £2 > £5/ night B&B = $4 - $8 US). It is specially to be recommended to escape Christmas. Then climate is very pleasant. The Nubian men in south are beautiful and it seems many ladies come to enjoy their company. Some men do as well.
