That's bad! I hope you went back and got that cyclist good!

Driving test problems with cyclists seems to be common, On my test I hovered behind a cyclist and the driver behind me honked at me and so I commented "Oh that's nice!" or something like that. The examiner snapped and said it served me right so I thought "Damn I've failed!" I dropped a gear, whipped round the cyclist and drove naturally after that. I had had loads of practice previously and it was only nerves that made me drive so poorly early on in the test. Result: To my great surprise, he passed me! It was my first test.

Dunno if you can do this, but just driving as if you have already failed might be the best way to pass.

driving test

Postby Guest » Tue Aug 03, 2004 6:04 pm

I failed my test four times! Each failed attempt I made shocking mistakes. On my first test I left my right indicator going the whole journey of the dual carriage way and only noticed once I was asked to take the next exit! On my second attempt I rolled back at some traffic lights that were on a hill, the instructor was not to pleased as he had to slam his brakes on.
I put all down to nerves its amazing the ridiculous things that you do when your nervous. I passed in the end though!!!!!!!!! :D
Keep going though its worth it in the end.

Cant believe u did all that and passed .... that is sooooo unfair.....
Gonna be taking my 2nd test end of August..... think about it constantly ... had a car but it went bad..... so not only have I got test but no car to practise on except for the instructors car!!!! I mean really need to pass this test just cant cope if i had to take it again.....

what really is pissing me off - if fail wont get another test probably this year... because where I live its booked up three months in advance... so upset that might have to take theory test in Jan - all over again...

The TV/press - should really pick this up.. its to unfair , they r taking too long to give you test date and they fail you for STUPID things...while charging you a fortune!

driving test

Postby guestpost » Mon Aug 16, 2004 5:32 pm

my driving test today was worse than the first driving test - at least then, i actually managed to get out of the test centre okay and completed it before i was failed !!? Today i got myself into such a panic, even though i had had a two hour lesson in the morning that went so well, my driving instructor said i am bound to pass if i drive at that standard at the test. But even though in my mind i didn't feel nervous, my body was acting completley the opposite - i was jittery and nervous and didn't seem in control of my actions at all. I don't know why i can't make myself think more positively about my driving.

Hey guys,

I passed today!!!!! 2 minors. great feeling. Thanks for all your help. Dont worry about the wait for your test, you've got at least 60 years of drivng left.

Take the test in your own car, you will find it alot easier, I did, alot more relaxed.

I am so happy :) Passed my driving test today after 6 fails! When the end of the test came round and the examiner turned to me I buried my face because I was expecting the words 'I'm sorry.......' But just to hear him say 'I'm pleased to tell you.........' made my day :)

All I can say is keep trying and you will get there. I am not a bad driver but I have a terrible nerve problem. I think thats the main reason why people fail. My instructor recently recommended kalms and Bach Rescue remedy and since taking them they have really helped me calm down and think on the road.

What also helped was having the test in the morning during the school holidays. This meant today's test route was less severe than some I have been on previously.

Postby googly » Thu Aug 19, 2004 3:16 pm

hi everybody, i only came accross this today, i wish i had found it earlier.

i passed my test today, 4th time (in 17 years though!) i did my test when i was21, 26 two weeks ago and now 9aged 34).

i just wanted to let everybody know that it is all about confidence, and i really thought i had passed my last one and was nervous at the begining of this one, so i thought i drove quite badly.....but i didn't, i passed with one minor fault.

so go on people, if i can do it, so can you!

About third time

Postby o_O » Fri Aug 20, 2004 12:23 am

I have a question.
I heard that if you fail the third time you have to pay like $800 (That's ridiculous!!) Is this true?
I can't afford that much!!

I already failed twice :(
