Well i passed my driving test...THANK GOD, got it over and done with once and for all...i passed on my 5th time...even tho everyone was shocked that it took so many attempts for me to pass, they thought i was failing on purpose, but newayz at least i done it in the end...the nerves got the better of me on other attempts however on this particular attempt i was confident and concentrated so much on my mission which i accomplished. One thing to remember is at the start u have to get the examiner on ur side and by this i mean basically dont F*** up at the start, remember that the examiner does not know how good ur driving is so its better to start off good, this will also boost ur confidence and help u keep relaxed throughout the whole exam...neway guys i wish any one who has their test GOOD LUCK...hope u pass, don't worry if u dont there's always next time :) byyeeee

Even mocked the way I speak! Caught me totally off guard by taking me to a completly different location as to where I practiced..and when I missed the turn (cos it was obstucted by bushes) he said 'a right turn is a right turn, no matter where you are' which is fair enough, but he didn't have to be a total prat!!
I console myself by knowing that I earn loads more than him and don't have to wear a fake burberry tie to believe I am 'the MAN'!

I hope you don't get him anymore...what a looser!!!

Well, I passed on Monday - 2nd attempt. It started hailstoning almost as soon as I got in the car so I must have been on top form really eh? I also had a horrible tension headache from when I woke up that morning, really painful just behind my eyes so I was worried enough as it was but I felt a lot more ready than the first time round and now that Im driving on my own, Im not really nervous, wheras if I passed first time I think since I wasnt ready then I would be terrible driving on my own initiative.

I wish there was a rule that said you had to get taught proper parallel parking though cos Im rubbish if there's only 1 car space between 2 cars lol. I end up looking for a bay to park in or at the end of a row of cars lol.

Apart from that it's well worth doing your best and have a chat with the instructor, be cheerful if possible. I wasnt too nervous second time round and I thinked it helped as with the weather being bad if I'd been too stiff I wouldnt have been able to manouvere the car properly...

I failed my 6th test today, im at a complete loss. I failed my 5th for going to slow in a 60mph limit, and that was all. I changed my test centre and used my own car which ive been practicing in. I failed because i stooled on my 3 point turn about 4 times, i just panicked i think, then i got another serious for going to fast :( everyone that ive drove with including two instrcutors have said i am a good confident driver, but i just get so nervous during the test. I think what is the point now, i have booked my next test, its 5 weeks away, but what if i fail that, my mum insured my car last november, meaning ive wasted 6 months of insurance already. Help me !?! i dont know what to do :(

I beg ur parden, u what??? a CONFIDENT driver ayy, well if thats the case then y r u failing and 6 TIMES aswell, i think u should quit alltogether, u obviously seem like ur a hazard on the road, and what US the good drivers certainly dont need is shitty drivers like u on the road who cause accidents, FACE the facts ur a FAILURE...just quitttt nothing more to it im afraid. I dont understand y a smart person would insure their car when they haven't even got a license, what the bloody hell is that all about???, oh my god what is the world coming to, well that explains it all then doesn't it, this is y u've failed 6 times, a complete mess, sort urself out womannnnnn!!!!!!!! i wish u HAPPY DRIVING haaaaaaaaaa

Wow, that was a bit harsh but I do agree with the general idea that if you're ready then you will pass the test. First time I tried I failed because I wasnt ready and even though I thought they were being harsh, I was obviously ready the second attempt cos I made it when it was hailstoning.

I know it's a hard test but if you're ready you will pass it - it's not really good enough to say that it was the examiner being a biatch/b***** is it?

It seems that you worry too much. You have to work on your confidence issue on your own. You need more experience and practise.

I do not know about your area, but in the US you may take the driving test without going through driving school. You can teach yourself. The Department of Motor Vehicles provides all the necessary material you need to pass the written test and it is legal to practise driving on private property.

You should sell your current car and buy a really cheap hideous used car. It should be so awful that you would not care whether someone scratches it, dents it, vandalised it, stole it, set it on fire, throw rocks at it, ... etc..

Then practise driving on private property, such as a farm, to build up on experience. Next, get your friends and family to help you out. They can drive a tractor, drive a farm truck, ride a horse and buggy, throw rocks at you, ... etc. while your drive.

Keep practising until you develop nerves of steel, then go back and take your driving test.

rescue remedy

Postby Caroline_1 on Thu Jun 07, 2007 2:49 pm

Had my first test yesterday. I'd had a stinker of a lesson earlier this week... knee trembles, nearly cried at least twice, shaky hands... the lot. My instructor was really worried and said he'd never seen me like that and gave me some rescue remedy to take over the next few days.
By the night before my test I was so chilled out that I managed to get to sleep without worrying. Woke up on the day feeling fine, managed to eat some brekkie and off I went. Felt a little nervous, but more the adrenaline rush type than destructive nerves. I had a really good lesson before my test, and managed to pass with only 4 minors! I really believe that without the rescue remedy I would have been a complete mess and I'm gonna swear by the stuff now. If you're really ready to pass then the only thing that will let you down is your nerves. Try it!! Hope this helps and good luck to you all :gourpwave:

I am terribly sorry poweraoife2. What country to do live in where you have to wait another 12 months, and they raise your insurance because you have failed a test?

I have my 1st driving test today, I am scared, but very calm right now. I had a bad lesson yesturday, but I have been having good and bad lessons for the last couple of weeks, I know I am capable but at the same time know theres a real chance I'll fail.

I'll come back and let everyone know how I did.
